Best Indian Proxy Providers, With Every Number Sourced

Indian proxy buyers should start with Oxylabs, the seller behind the top India count in Proxyway's tests: 518,987 different Indian addresses, logged in April 2026. Byteful had the lowest Indian average of all 14 pools, 0.51 seconds, and at $3.25 per GB, its residential entry rate also beats our other three (October 2026). SOAX is the best India proxy for state, city or carrier work: its India page lists 33 regions, 49 cities and networks including Jio and Airtel. Fourth by distinct IPs, Rayobyte passes our bar too, but its slowest replies drag and its Indian mobile pool is almost empty.

Route your browser through an India proxy, and Flipkart, Amazon.in or Google receive each request from an Indian IP rather than your own. If proxies are new to you, read why traffic passes through a proxy first. This guide is for people who check Indian search results and ads, compare prices, offers and delivery dates by city, or test rupee prices and Hindi pages before launch. Free proxy lists, web proxies and VPN apps are not covered.

Our vetting rule came first, and only sellers that cleared it were compared. Proxyway's India-only run in its 2026 study supplies reach, success and speed; seller sites supply most of the rest, from city filters to dollar prices. We tested no proxies ourselves; we report what those sources say, and where they disagree. Nothing here is sponsored or affiliate-linked.

Christopher Vance, Web Infrastructure Specialist, reviewing Indian proxy sellers for TrustMyIP.com
Author: Christopher Vance Web Infrastructure Specialist
My work over the past decade in Chicago has been web access systems, and above all the IP checks a site runs before it trusts a visitor. Judging an Indian proxy, I look first at the network behind the exit: Jio, Airtel, BSNL or a cloud host. Then I check how close a location database puts it to the promised city.
Writing this guide involved no proxy purchase and no traffic of my own; every number here comes from a named source or is worked out from one. On October 27, 2026, I read the seller pages, Proxyway's study and reviews, TRAI's subscriber figures and the APNIC registry records quoted here. Proxyway says affiliate links keep it running, so every test figure below is credited to it by name. Every Indian claim a seller makes here, I traced to that seller's own site.

Quick Answer: Best Proxy Server for India

Oxylabs is the Indian proxy with the widest reach in Proxyway's results, on residential and mobile pools alike, and it sells Indian datacenter IPs too. Byteful has the lowest Indian average response; as of October 2026, $32.50 buys 10 GB of its residential data. Of our four, SOAX names the most Indian places and networks, Jio and Airtel among them. Rayobyte qualifies, but its slowest replies trail far behind.

How We Ranked Indian Proxy Providers on a Singapore-Run Test

The test numbers below come from an India-only test that Proxyway, a proxy review site, published in the India results in its 2026 market study and its seller reviews. Proxyway's machine in Singapore fetched a CDN page of about 6 KB through each seller's residential pool, filtered to Indian exits. That came to 40,000 requests a day for two weeks, or 560,000, while each mobile pool got 280,000. Collection for the study ran mostly through March and April 2026.

Ranking rule: two gates, then a sort. A seller must pass our vetting rule, set out in the box below, and its Indian residential pool must reach 99% infrastructure success. The order among survivors comes from one number: distinct Indian addresses, as each seller's Proxyway review prints it. Each seller's India page, product pages and price list were checked as well.

Before trusting the study's India column, we matched it against each seller's review page, because, for most sellers, its success table reverses the review pages' UK and Brazil rates. India held up. Every India value agrees for 12 of the study's 14 pools, which come from 13 sellers. The two gaps come from older reviews: NetNut's still shows a 2025 test, and ProxyEmpire's mobile figures date from June 2025.

Both gates were cleared by Oxylabs, Byteful, SOAX and Rayobyte. Decodo, Webshare, Evomi Premium, ProxyEmpire and both DataImpulse pools also topped 99% in India, yet those sellers fail our vetting. Below the line were NetNut (98.24%), Infatica (97.50%), Proxyrack (96.58%) and IPRoyal (93.57%).

Three details limit what these figures can tell you. Proxyway's access table places gateways for Oxylabs, SOAX and Byteful in Singapore, among other locations, and Rayobyte's only one on the US East Coast; India appears for none. Its US and EU runs each used 1.2 million requests, more than twice India's 560,000, so their distinct-IP counts do not compare with India's. And the target was a 6 KB CDN page, not Flipkart or Amazon.in, so success on those sites can differ.

Why Proxyway's India page is not our source

A title promising "6 Best India Proxy Providers of 2026" sits over a list of five on Proxyway's India page, last changed October 21, 2026. Every pick's success rate and response time repeats the 2025 study's India figures, and the method link opens that older report. IPRoyal ranks fourth there at 98.97%, against 93.57% in the 2026 India test. The page carries six coupon codes beside its affiliate links; no Indian city or network is named, and SOAX, Byteful and Rayobyte are absent from its list.

Who fails our vetting

Sellers saw nothing before publication. For each one we read its product or location page, its homepage, every main-menu and footer link, and the page each of those opens. If any of them pitches account creation, many accounts kept clear of bans, blocks or detection, ban evasion, sneaker or ticket bots, Craigslist posting or fraud, the seller is out. NetNut is off the list too, along with every brand Google's January 2026 IPIDEA report tied to that network.

India Proxies Side by Side: Reach, Success and Response Time

Each ranked seller's Proxyway review holds the April 2026 India rows below; the final column comes from the mobile run, not the residential one.

Seller Distinct Indian IPs India Success Avg / Median / P95 Mobile IPs and Success
Oxylabs 518,987 99.59% 0.66 / 0.60 / 1.21 s 269,121 at 99.80%
Byteful 416,278 99.59% 0.51 / 0.45 / 0.87 s 164,563 at 99.62%
SOAX 236,865 99.86% 0.87 / 0.67 / 1.91 s 134,922 at 99.17%
Rayobyte 217,155 99.69% 2.11 / 1.34 / 7.46 s 156 at 0.67%

Oxylabs came close to the test's ceiling: by our division, about 93 of every 100 requests reached an address the run had not seen before. The fastest Indian proxy here is Byteful, which beat the other three on the average, the median and the 95th percentile alike. Rayobyte's success rate looks strong, but its 95th percentile reached 7.46 seconds, against Byteful's 0.87, and its mobile run found almost no Indian mobile IPs.

SOAX posted the best success rate of the four. Yet only 94.12% of its Indian IPs carried IP2Location's fixed-line ISP or mobile usage type, the check Proxyway uses for residential share. That was the lowest share among all 14 pools in the study's table, leaving about 6 in 100 SOAX exits with some other label.

Best India Proxy Providers, Ranked by Indian IPs Reached

Under our rule, these four are the best India proxy providers, in descending order of the distinct Indian IPs Proxyway's run drew from each. Every review ends with strengths, weak spots and a "Best for" line, built from Proxyway's April 2026 figures and the seller's own pages.

1. Oxylabs: Half a Million Indian IPs on Three Proxy Types

For India, Oxylabs offers three kinds of exit: residential, mobile and datacenter. Its India page sells no ISP proxies, and India is missing from the 28 countries its ISP page lists, where Singapore and Hong Kong sit closest. In Proxyway's runs, 518,987 distinct Indian IPs came back through its residential pool at 99.59% success, and 269,121 through mobile at 99.80%. Both counts are the highest on Proxyway's 2026 review pages.

Oxylabs' residential pricing, as of October 2026, opens with a $30 Starter plan at $6 a gigabyte and drops to $2.50 a gigabyte once you buy 1,000 GB or more. Mobile traffic opens at $7.50 a gigabyte. Its datacenter page lists 60,000 Indian IPs, with dedicated ones from $2 each on the smallest plan. A $5 credit comes with new accounts, and the plan pages warn "VAT may apply" without any mention of GST.

Where it wins

  • The most distinct Indian IPs on Proxyway's 2026 reviews, on residential and mobile pools
  • Indian datacenter IPs too, with 60,000 listed on its datacenter page
  • Mobile IPs held for up to 24 hours on a sticky session
  • Three protocols on offer: HTTP(S), HTTP3 and SOCKS5
  • A 1.21-second P95, second only to Byteful among our four

Where it falls short

  • Two Indian totals on one page: "12,219,233 IPs" at the top and "6M+" further down
  • An India page that quotes residential from $8 and mobile from $9 per GB, above the $6 and $7.50 on its own pricing pages (October 2026)
  • No Indian ISP proxies listed, and no Indian network named on its India page
  • Country and ASN filters cannot be combined, per Proxyway's review, and the ZIP filter covers US addresses only
  • The highest per-GB entry rate of the four, and Proxyway says a KYC check comes before use

Best for: high-volume Indian work, where reach matters more than the entry price.

2. Byteful: Quickest Replies, Fewest Indian Details

Byteful had the lowest Indian average in the study's response table, 0.51 seconds, and the lowest 95th percentile of our four, 0.87 seconds. Its mobile pool averaged 0.57 seconds, the quickest Indian mobile figure on Proxyway's review pages, across 164,563 distinct IPs at 99.62%. Its residential pool reached 416,278 distinct Indian IPs at 99.59%, second among the four we rank.

Its India page claims "862,052 Monthly Active IPs" across "all 28 states and 8 union territories", yet it names only Mumbai and Delhi and lists no Indian ISP. India appears on none of its product pages. As of October 2026, residential traffic costs $32.50 for 10 GB and mobile $42.50 for the same amount, and residential traffic you buy does not expire.

Where it wins

  • The lowest Indian average response in the study's table, across all 14 pools
  • The quickest Indian mobile average on Proxyway's review pages
  • $3.25 per residential GB on its smallest block, below our other three (October 2026)
  • Bought traffic that never expires
  • Carrier and ASN targeting on its residential page, whose FAQ names Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel

Where it falls short

  • India sits on none of its product pages, and its India page names no state
  • "Datacenter" sits among its India FAQ's proxy types, yet its datacenter page stops at New York, Miami and Germany
  • "As low as" India prices, from $1.75 per GB, that its own tiers do not match (October 2026)
  • Gateway unclear: Proxyway lists Singapore, yet its review says non-European traffic went through a US gateway
  • Its trial needs an identity check through Idenfy, per Proxyway

Best for: quick Indian checks where the per-GB rate matters and a long city list does not.

3. SOAX: Indian Targeting Down to Region, City and Carrier

SOAX's India page lists 49 cities, 33 regions and 50 networks. The regions cover all 28 states and five of the eight union territories; Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Lakshadweep are missing. Named networks include Jio, Airtel, Airtel Broadband, Vodafone Idea, Bsnl, Act Fibernet, Hathway and Excitel. Proxyway counted 236,865 distinct Indian IPs at 99.86% success, the best rate among sellers that passed our vetting.

India sits in SOAX's Tier 2, one step below the US in Tier 1, so Indian gigabytes cost less. On Sandbox, which carries no plan fee, Indian traffic is $4 per GB; Builder cuts that to $2.25 for $200 a month plus VAT (October 2026). One rate covers residential and mobile, and the Scale plan, at $1,500 a month plus VAT, is where ASN and ZIP targeting begin.

Where it wins

  • The highest India success rate among sellers that passed our vetting
  • Indian networks named on its India page, which no other ranked seller does, plus ISP filters on all plans
  • All 28 states on its region list, and cities from Mumbai to Guwahati
  • Indian traffic billed at a cheaper tier than US traffic
  • HTTP(S) and SOCKS5, with "UDP/QUIC" on mobile and residential

Where it falls short

  • The lowest fixed-line or mobile share of the study's 14 India pools
  • No Indian datacenter or ISP product: "Indian residential, mobile and US Datacenter proxies available"
  • Its network list includes Cloudflare Warp, a VPN app's name, and lists some networks twice under different spellings
  • ASN and ZIP targeting only from Scale, at $1,500 a month plus VAT (October 2026)
  • Mixed trial signals, "We don't offer a free trial" beside "Start your trial", and payments that are "generally non-refundable"

Best for: Indian jobs pinned to one state, one city or one named carrier.

4. Rayobyte: PIN-Code Targeting on Paper, a Slow Tail in Practice

Rayobyte's India page names Flipkart, Myntra and Amazon.in, and it says Premium Residential requests can be narrowed to "a city, PIN code or ASN". Its residential product page says ZIP code instead, so confirm that Indian PIN codes work before you rely on them. Its 217,155 distinct Indian IPs at 99.69% success in Proxyway's run clear our bar.

Speed is the problem. Replies averaged 2.11 seconds, about four times Byteful's, and the slowest 5% took 7.46 seconds or more; Proxyway's table puts Rayobyte's only gateway on the US East Coast. Proxyway's mobile run found just 156 Indian IPs at 0.67% success, which fits Rayobyte's own note that its mobile IPs "come from US carrier networks".

Its October 2026 residential rate starts at $3.50 a gigabyte for small orders under 50 GB, then drops to $2 a gigabyte from 50 GB. Its datacenter page prices Indian IPs per address: $2.50 a month on orders of 5 to 99. Rotating self-serve products come with a free trial and no card, though static IPs are left out of it.

Where it wins

  • PIN code, city and ASN targeting listed on its India page
  • 99.69% India success, second-highest of the four
  • A free trial on rotating products, with no card required
  • Indian datacenter IPs alongside residential ones
  • Sticky sessions of up to 120 minutes, and SOCKS5 on Premium Residential

Where it falls short

  • Slowest replies of our four, on average and at the 95th percentile
  • Effectively no Indian mobile pool in Proxyway's run
  • No Indian ISP proxies, and no Indian IP count published
  • PIN code appears on its India page only; its residential page says ZIP code
  • No gateway in Asia in Proxyway's table, only the US East Coast

Best for: patient price and stock checks where PIN-level targeting matters more than speed, once PIN support is confirmed.

Indian Proxy Server Types: What Each Seller Sells for India

An Indian proxy server comes in four main types, and each sends traffic out through a different kind of address. Our four sellers cover them unevenly, and only Byteful lists an Indian ISP product, which its own static page does not back up.

Indian Residential Proxies, Where Home Often Means a Phone Network

Indian residential proxies route traffic through addresses that internet providers hand to subscribers, and most Indian subscribers connect without a wire. TRAI's August 2026 subscriber data puts Jio at 538.03 million broadband subscribers, 14.81 million of them on fixed wired lines. Airtel had 386.39 million and 11.44 million. By our arithmetic, that is under 3 in 100 for each.

So an Indian residential IP will often belong to a mobile network. Proxyway's residential-share check counts both kinds: an address passes if IP2Location types it as a fixed-line or mobile provider. On that check, Oxylabs scored 98.15%, Byteful 98.11%, Rayobyte 97.23% and SOAX 94.12%.

Three more vetted sellers sell rotating Indian exits, though Proxyway has published no India test for any of them:

  • → Databay: Premium Residential, Residential Flex and mobile pools, the three products its India guide shows. It names 579 observed networks but says their presence "does not imply that an ASN can be selected". Residential Flex costs $13.75 for 25 GB, or $0.55 per GB, as of October 2026.
  • → Proxidize: Indian residential and mobile proxies, targetable by country and city. As of October 2026, residential costs $25 a month for 25 GB and mobile $50 a month for 25 GB. It names no Indian carrier or IP count, and KYC is required.
  • → PacketStream: residential exits chosen by country only, by adding _country-IN to your key. It charges $1 per GB with a $50 minimum purchase, as of October 2026, and its pool comes from people paid to share their bandwidth.

For cheap Indian residential proxies, those three charge less per GB than our ranked four's entry plans, though their minimum orders run from 25 to 50 GB (October 2026). None has a published India success rate to weigh against the price.

India Mobile and 4G Proxies: Three Real Pools and One Near-Empty

TRAI counted 1,293.43 million mobile connections at the end of August 2026, machine-to-machine links included, and India mobile proxies draw their exits from that base. From its operator totals, we work out Jio's share at 39.31%, Airtel's at 38.01%, Vi's at 15.43% and BSNL's at 7.24%.

Proxyway's mobile run sent 280,000 requests through each seller's Indian mobile pool. Oxylabs reached 269,121 distinct IPs at a 0.88-second average, Byteful 164,563 at 0.57 seconds and SOAX 134,922 at 1.31 seconds. Rayobyte's pool returned 156, with 0.67% success, which Proxyway's review sums up as "effectively no IPs in India".

An India 4G proxy from any of the three is an address drawn from the seller's carrier pool and billed per GB, not a SIM or modem reserved for you. None of the four names an Indian carrier on its mobile product page. SOAX's India page lists Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea among its networks, and Byteful's residential FAQ names Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel among its carriers. For mobile pools elsewhere, see our worldwide mobile proxy picks.

Static, ISP and Dedicated Indian IPs: The Gap in the Lineup

A static Indian ISP proxy, a home-network address that stays yours, is the type our four sellers document least. Oxylabs has none for India, as its review above notes. Rayobyte's ISP IPs cover six countries outside Asia, and SOAX lists none for India. Byteful is the exception on paper: its India FAQ lists "Static Residential ISP", yet India is not among the seven locations its static residential page names.

Dedicated datacenter IPs fill part of the gap. Oxylabs' datacenter page shows one Indian count, 60,000 IPs, covering its dedicated and shared plans (October 2026). Rayobyte's Indian datacenter IPs, priced in its review above, are the other dedicated option. A private Indian proxy of this kind keeps one address, but it sits on a hosting network, and how sites spot hosting addresses explains why some sites treat that differently.

WonderProxy, built for testing localized sites, runs 7 servers in India with 10 IPs. New Delhi, Chennai and Pune have two each, while Hyderabad, Indore, Bangalore and Mumbai have one. As of October 2026, the $120 USD Team plan, with 15 locations, is the cheapest that covers all seven; the $40 Professional plan stops at 5. HighProxies and BuyProxies.org, which we vetted for other guides, list no Indian location. For static home IPs in other countries, compare ISP proxy sellers outside India.

Search, Shop and Localization Checks: Matching an Indian IP to the Job

Four common jobs need an Indian address, each for its own reason, and each suits different sellers:

  • → Indian search results and ads: since 2017, Google has served local results by the searcher's location rather than the domain typed. After Google's April 2025 announcement that country-code domains would redirect to google.com, a google.co.in check mostly tests where the exit sits. For checks in bulk, Oxylabs has the reach; for one city's results, such as Pune or Lucknow, SOAX's city list is the closer fit.
  • → Prices, offers and delivery dates: Rayobyte's India page says Flipkart and Myntra "show offers, stock and delivery dates for the shopper's city and PIN code". If that holds for the shop you watch, Rayobyte's PIN targeting is the reason to try it. If not, SOAX's city list is the next tool to reach for.
  • → Localization QA: before a launch, testers look at rupee formatting, lakh and crore number grouping, and Hindi or other regional-language pages. Databay's India guide is built around PIN-code checkout tests, Indian-language interfaces and rupee formatting. For tests you rerun from the same city, WonderProxy's seven Indian servers stay put; for sweeps across many pages, Byteful's fast replies help.
  • → Ad verification and brand protection: mobile ad placements are easiest to judge from a carrier exit, and Oxylabs has the largest Indian mobile pool we rank. Rayobyte's page also covers checking "that your ads, landing pages and affiliate links show up correctly for people in India".

Whichever job you run, an Indian IP proxy changes where a site thinks you are. Language, account settings and a typed PIN code are separate signals that you control in the browser or on the site.

The DPDP Act, CERT-In and What You Collect

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act of 2023 applies to personal data in digital form. As the DPDP Act's own text defines it, personal data is "any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data". It also reaches processing outside India when that is tied to offering goods or services to people in India. The Act never names IP addresses. Under the Rules notified on November 13, 2025, most duties apply 18 months later, which we work out as May 13, 2027.

Logging reviewer names, phone numbers or profile pages from Indian sites puts personal data in your hands; a price or rank tracker rarely stores any. For the first kind, the reach rule above can bring in a company abroad. The Act's carve-out covers data that people made, or caused to be made, public themselves, so take legal advice before relying on it.

Separately, CERT-In's April 2022 directions make VPN, VPS, cloud and data-centre providers keep validated customer records for five years or longer after a registration ends. The directions never use the word proxy, although a CERT-In FAQ describes VPN providers as offering "Internet proxy like services".

12 Million or 6 Million? What Indian Pool Sizes Really Tell You

Oxylabs' India page gives two totals: "12,219,233 IPs" in its header and "6M+" in a section further down. By our division, Proxyway's count of 518,987 distinct addresses is about 4% of the first figure and at most about 9% of the second. SOAX advertises 5,132,520 Indian IPs in one total that does not split residential from mobile, and Proxyway's residential count for SOAX comes to about 5% of that.

Byteful's "862,052 Monthly Active IPs" measures something else, a monthly counter, and Proxyway reached about 48% of it in two weeks. Rayobyte publishes no Indian count at all. Databay labels its count most plainly: its "1,980,646" Indian addresses sit under a "Historical IP catalogue" heading dated June 2026, flagged "not live inventory".

Some seller tables deserve even less weight. NodeMaven's India city table repeats its UK city table number for number, and its ten cities add up to 427,922, more than its own India total of 360,626. Geonode's Indian headline counts match its UK ones. Even Oxylabs' four-city Indian table, which does not say what product it counts, matches Proxy-Cheap's 17-city India table on all four cities, from Aligarh 512 to Mumbai 6,016.

What 560,000 requests can and cannot show

No sample can disprove a seller's total, because addresses that stayed silent during the run may still be there. What a sample shows is reach. By our division of Proxyway's distinct counts by 560,000 requests, Byteful reached about 74 new addresses per 100, SOAX about 42 and Rayobyte about 39. Oxylabs' 93 per 100, noted above, sits near the ceiling, so the request count likely capped it and its Indian reach may be larger.

States, PIN Codes and Carriers: How Precise Indian Targeting Gets

Indian filters and proxy types, as the four ranked sellers' own pages offered them in October 2026, line up as follows; one Oxylabs limit is Proxyway's.

Seller Indian Targeting Types Sold for India
Oxylabs City, coordinates or ASN; no country plus ASN, per Proxyway Residential, mobile and datacenter
Byteful Region, city, ISP or ASN; India page names two cities Residential and mobile, plus unconfirmed ISP and datacenter claims
SOAX 33 regions, 49 cities, 50 networks; ASN from Scale Mobile and residential; its datacenter IPs sit in the US
Rayobyte City, PIN code or ASN, per its India page Residential and datacenter; no mobile or ISP

Of the four, only SOAX publishes an Indian region list, and its city list leans north-west: ten of its 49 cities are in Punjab, from Amritsar to Bathinda. Rayobyte is the only one to name PIN codes, and only on its India page. All four list SOCKS5 support alongside HTTP(S), so protocol rarely decides the choice of a proxy for India.

Why Indian City Labels Miss So Often

MaxMind's accuracy page, read in October 2026, shows India trailing Germany and the UK. Its paid City data puts 35% of Indian IPs in a city more than 50 km out, against 27% for Germany and 21% for the UK. Only 63% land within 50 km. IP2Location reports 71.94% of Indian IPs within 50 miles.

Registry records help explain it. One Airtel mobile block, 27.56.0.0/21, carries the name "Guwahati", a postal address in Aizawl, Mizoram, and map coordinates, while its routing records give office addresses in New Delhi and Gurgaon. Airtel's own blog calls IP location "not always accurate" and ties it to "the location of your ISP's servers". For the mechanics, read how an IP's city gets misplaced.

Jio, Airtel, Vi or a Cloud Host? Reading an Indian ASN

Every public address is announced by a network with its own number, its ASN. RIPEstat and bgp.he.net list these Indian access networks, all registered through APNIC, as of October 2026:

  • → Jio: AS55836, "Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited". One ASN carries both Jio mobile and JioFiber, so the holder name cannot tell them apart.
  • → Airtel: AS45609 for mobile ("AS for GPRS Service"), AS24560 for home broadband ("Telemedia Services") and AS9498, its main network with thousands of peers. Here the holder name does reveal the connection type.
  • → Vodafone Idea (Vi): AS38266, AS55410 and AS45271, held by "Vodafone Idea Ltd". Older names such as "Vodafone India Limited" and "Vodafone Essar" still show up in some records.
  • → BSNL and MTNL: AS9829, named "National Internet Backbone", and AS17813, the two state-owned operators.
  • → Fixed broadband: ACT (AS24309), Hathway (AS17488), Excitel (AS133982) and Spectra (AS10029). Tata Communications' AS4755, formerly VSNL, peers with 849 networks on bgp.he.net, a sign of transit rather than home service.

Hosting networks with Indian regions carry Indian locations, yet they are not access networks:

  • → AWS (AS16509): Mumbai, plus Hyderabad as an opt-in region.
  • → Microsoft Azure (AS8075): Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai.
  • → Google Cloud (AS396982): Mumbai and Delhi.
  • → DigitalOcean (AS14061) and Vultr (AS20473): Bangalore for both, with Mumbai and Delhi NCR at Vultr as well.
  • → Akamai's Linode cloud (AS63949): Chennai and Mumbai, registered through APNIC like the Indian ISPs. Sify (AS9583) and CtrlS (AS18229) are Indian data-centre operators.

One more Indian quirk. An APNIC blog post from August 2026 puts India's IPv6 capability at 78.59% in early 2026 and says "Jio deployed IPv6 from the outset". Routing data on bgp.he.net counts about 4.75 million IPv4 addresses originated by Jio's AS55836, while TRAI counts 538.03 million Jio broadband subscribers. By our arithmetic, that is over 100 subscribers per address, so Jio's IPv4 addresses must be widely shared, or its traffic must travel over IPv6.

Buy an Indian Proxy in Dollars: Prices, GST Wording and Trials

All four ranked sellers price in US dollars, and none shows rupees. Their entry rates and tax wording, as of October 2026, compare like this.

Seller Residential Entry Mobile Entry Tax Wording
Oxylabs $6 a gigabyte; Starter plan costs $30 $7.50 per GB "VAT may apply"
Byteful $3.25 a gigabyte, bought as 10 GB $4.25 a gigabyte, bought as 10 GB Taxes added "where required by law"
SOAX $4 per GB on Sandbox, India's Tier 2 Same rate as residential Adds "any VAT, sales tax, GST" it must collect
Rayobyte $3.50 per GB under 50 GB $3 per GB, $250 plan via sales; US carriers Product pages show no tax wording

Byteful has the lowest residential rate per GB at entry, though its smallest 10 GB block costs more than Rayobyte's 1 GB or Oxylabs' $30 Starter. SOAX's tier system makes Indian traffic cheaper than its US traffic, $4 against $5 a gigabyte on Sandbox as of October 2026. At small volumes Oxylabs is the dearest of the four, and even at 1,000 GB its $2.50 a gigabyte sits above Rayobyte's $0.70.

On pricing pages, SOAX is the only one of the four to name GST, though Oxylabs' terms list goods and services taxes among those it charges. For online database access bought from abroad, the GST Council's IT FAQ says a GST-registered Indian buyer pays IGST under reverse charge. For an unregistered buyer, the foreign supplier must register and pay. Whether a proxy plan falls under that rule is a question for your tax adviser. Before you buy an Indian proxy, check these trial and refund terms, as read in October 2026; trials at every seller we vetted are compared separately.

  • → Oxylabs: a $5 credit for new accounts (October 2026). Its terms allow a refund within 3 days if no more than 20% is used, but not on pay-as-you-go residential or mobile. Proxyway lists a 7-day trial for companies and says KYC comes first.
  • → SOAX: its India page says both "We don't offer a free trial" and "Start your trial". A 3-day, 400 MB trial for $1.99 appears in Proxyway's review but not on SOAX's pricing page (October 2026), and Sandbox credits lapse after 60 days.
  • → Byteful: a 1 GB residential trial, which Proxyway says requires an identity check first.
  • → Rayobyte: a free trial on self-serve products with no card, static IPs excluded. Its site warns that "Unusual use triggers ID checks."

For an India proxy service you plan to keep, the trial matters less than how a seller bills, taxes and refunds. Read each one's terms in full before the first top-up.

Big Indian Pools We Still Left Out, and the Wording Behind Each

Some of the largest Indian pools in Proxyway's test belong to sellers that fail our vetting. Decodo reached 506,980 distinct Indian IPs at 99.86% success, and Webshare 429,282, both more than Byteful, SOAX or Rayobyte. For every seller below, we quote the wording that ruled it out and say where we found it, in October 2026. These exclusions reflect our reading of each seller's marketing, not a finding of wrongdoing.

  • → Decodo: its India page offers to "Manage multiple Indian social media accounts", and its footer opens a Craigslist proxies page that pitches "unlimited numbers of accounts on Craigslist".
  • → Webshare: "without triggering bans" is the promise on the "Social Media" use-case page its footer links, a page about running multiple accounts.
  • → IPRoyal: its India page says a sticky Indian IP "will let you manage multiple accounts on social media at once". It adds that "Detecting the true source of the traffic will become nearly impossible." Its India success rate was also the lowest in the study, 93.57%.
  • → ProxyEmpire: its India page pitches "Run Indian accounts and test apps from mobile IPs on Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL". Its targets page, in the main menu, covers "Sneakers, tickets, gaming and streaming".
  • → Evomi: the use-case page its main menu opens lists "Craigslist Proxies" and "Ticketmaster Proxies".
  • → DataImpulse: the use-case page in its main menu lists "Sneaker proxies" and "Sneaker/ticket bots".
  • → Bright Data: on its datacenter product page, the pitch for handling multiple marketplace and social media profiles ends "without ever getting blocked".
  • → NodeMaven: its India page offers to "Run multiple accounts", and its main-menu page on multi-accounting sells "Clean & undetectable IPs".
  • → CyberYozh: its India page offers to "Register and verify India-based accounts using local IPs, avoiding location-mismatch flags and CAPTCHAs".
  • → ProxyWing: an FAQ on its India page promises to "reduce the risk of bans". Its main menu opens a multi-account page with a section headed "Reduce bans and flags".
  • → Geonode, Proxy-Cheap and ColdProxy: Geonode's use-case page, linked in its footer, includes "Sneaker botting". Proxy-Cheap's homepage pitches bulk account work under the heading "Multiple Accounts Creation". A ColdProxy footer page on running "dozens of Instagram profiles" says a fixed IP per profile stops Instagram "flagging scheduled content as suspicious".
  • → NetNut and IPIDEA-linked brands: per a KrebsOnSecurity report, the FBI took NetNut's domains on July 2, 2026. Google's threat analysts published their IPIDEA findings on January 28, 2026, naming linked brands, among them "Luna Proxy" and "IP 2 World".

You will meet these sellers in other India rankings. Proxyway's India page ranks Decodo, Webshare, IPRoyal and Bright Data beside Oxylabs, and the lists on Pixelscan, CyberYozh's blog and DataImpulse's blog still include NetNut.

Indian Proxy IP Checks: Registry, Network, City and Clock

Five free checks show whether an Indian proxy IP behaves like one. Ask your seller before testing, because its terms decide which checks are allowed.

Checklist: Is the Exit in India?

1 Start with leaks

Test for leaks first, since a leak makes the other four checks pointless. The closing box's first button opens the proxy checker, which runs a WebRTC STUN probe, scans 15 proxy-revealing headers and shows the IP sites see.

2 Get a database's city guess

Read the city one database gives. Treat a mismatch with the seller's city as weak evidence: the answer is ip-api.com's alone, and MaxMind puts 35% of Indian IPs in a city over 50 km away.

3 Identify the carrier

Look up who holds the network. An exit on Jio comes back as AS55836, and one on Airtel mobile as AS45609. Amazon, Microsoft or another cloud holder means a hosting network, whatever city the seller named. The tool names the registry, APNIC for Indian ISPs, but no country.

4 Find the IN country code

Check how APNIC files the block. The country field should read IN, but do not expect a city. Reliance Jio's 49.32.0.0/12 allocation puts 1,048,576 addresses in a single APNIC entry, while smaller assignments inside it, such as 49.32.0.0/16, carry entries of their own.

5 Match the clock to IST

Indian Standard Time, kept by CSIR-NPL, is UTC+5:30. The closing box's second button sets the exit's zone beside your browser's; a browser on Asia/Kolkata reports an offset of minus 330 minutes. One left on Singapore time sits two and a half hours ahead.

Five passes describe the exit, not how a given site will treat it. Try a few exits on the exact Indian pages you plan to check before you buy more data.

Choosing an Indian Proxy: One Pick for Each Kind of Work

No one seller is the best Indian proxy for every job. Oxylabs gives the widest reach, SOAX the most named places and networks, Byteful the quickest replies for less, and Rayobyte PIN-level checks for patient users. Their test figures date from Proxyway's April 2026 India runs; the few older ones carry their own dates.

If You Need Start With Why
The widest Indian reach, residential and mobile Oxylabs Largest Indian counts on residential and mobile alike
Fast replies without a large plan Byteful Fastest replies here; cheapest residential GB to start (October 2026)
Targeting by state, city or mobile carrier SOAX Lists every Indian state and names Jio, Airtel and BSNL
Checks by PIN code, with time to spare Rayobyte PIN targeting claimed on its India page
Repeat tests from one Indian city WonderProxy Seven datacenter servers, from Delhi to Chennai

None of the four is flawless. Rayobyte's slow tail rules it out for time-critical work, and Byteful's India page promises more than its product pages deliver. SOAX had the lowest fixed-line or mobile share in Proxyway's check, while Oxylabs charges the most per GB on small orders.

A site that filters by network can refuse every exit on one ASN at once; blocks that cover a whole ASN explains how, and it matters most for datacenter IPs. For US work, the American proxy sellers we rank were chosen under an earlier rule, so check each against this one first.

Prices in this guide are October 2026 dollar list prices before any GST, which your checkout or tax adviser settles; terms marked as Proxyway's come from its reviews.

See Your Indian Exit as Sites Do
Two of the five checks run from here: the first button shows what a site receives from your Indian exit, the second tests your clock against IST. As with the other three checks, clear them with your seller first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q Which Indian proxy should most buyers start with?

A
For most Indian proxy work, start with Oxylabs. Its residential and mobile pools topped every rival's distinct Indian IP count in Proxyway's April 2026 runs, and it sells Indian datacenter IPs too. Pick Byteful for speed and, at October 2026 list prices, the lowest residential rate per GB. SOAX's India page covers 33 regions, 49 cities and 50 networks; Rayobyte is slower but lists PIN codes on its India page.

Q Do Indian mobile proxies run on Jio, Airtel and Vi?

A
In practice they do, because Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL carry almost every mobile connection in India. Of the four sellers we rank, only SOAX's India page names them, listing Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and "Bsnl" among 50 networks. Byteful's residential FAQ names Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. To see which network an Indian proxy exit uses, look up its ASN: Jio is AS55836 and Airtel mobile AS45609.

Q Is a static Indian IP better than a rotating one for repeat checks?

A
A static Indian IP keeps one address, which helps when a site must see the same visitor every time. Of our four, only Byteful lists an Indian ISP product, and its static page does not back that up. In practice, a fixed Indian address means a datacenter IP from Oxylabs or Rayobyte. For most price and search checks, a rotating residential pool with sticky sessions is the safer choice.

Q Can an IP lookup confirm which Indian city a proxy exit sits in?

A
Not reliably: location databases estimate cities, and Indian IPs are hard to place. MaxMind's own figures put 35% of Indian IPs in a city more than 50 km from the right one. Registry records add confusion: one Airtel mobile block carries the name Guwahati, lists an Aizawl address and has routing records with New Delhi and Gurgaon addresses. Judge an Indian proxy by its country, network and registry entry.

Q Do proxy sellers charge Indian buyers in rupees, and is GST added?

A
None of the four sellers we rank shows rupee prices; all bill in US dollars. SOAX's pricing names GST among taxes it adds; Oxylabs' terms list goods and services taxes, and Byteful's terms say its prices exclude taxes. Under the GST Council's FAQ on online database access, a GST-registered Indian business normally pays IGST itself under reverse charge. Ask a tax adviser how your Indian proxy plan is treated.

Q Where do Indian proxy gateways sit, and does it slow requests?

A
Outside India, for all four sellers we rank, according to Proxyway's 2026 access table. It lists Singapore for Oxylabs, SOAX and Byteful and only the US East Coast for Rayobyte, though Byteful's review says its non-European traffic went through the US. Proxyway's review says an Asian gateway would help Rayobyte's latency a lot; its Indian replies averaged 2.11 seconds against Byteful's 0.51 seconds.

Q Does India's DPDP Act limit what you collect through a proxy?

A
It can. The DPDP Act of 2023 covers data about identifiable people, even when processed outside India for services offered to people in India. A crawler that stores reviewer names, phone numbers or profiles may fall within it; a rank or price tracker rarely holds such data. By our count, most duties under its Rules apply from May 13, 2027. Ask a lawyer about your own case.
