Best Private Proxies: 6 Dedicated Proxy Sellers Compared

The best private proxies as of October 2026 come from Oxylabs. Its dedicated datacenter and ISP IPs go to one customer each, and you choose the network (ASN) behind its ISP IPs. Byteful pairs 99.80% success in Proxyway's August 2025 test with 10 different /24 subnets (blocks of 256 addresses) in Proxyway's 2026 US sample of 100 IPs. Rayobyte is the only tested pick that includes a free replacement credit for every IP. Evomi's Virgin grade sells IPs nobody has used before, HighProxies rents a single private IP by the month, and SquidProxies prints the lowest monthly rate at 100 IPs.

A private proxy, also sold as a dedicated proxy, is an IP address a seller assigns to one customer. Nobody else's traffic leaves from it while you hold it. If proxies are new to you, our guide on how a proxy relays your traffic covers the basics. The trap is the word "private" itself. Webshare's own FAQ says "Private proxies are shared with one or two other users". Oxylabs describes a private IP as one used "only by one user at a given time", which says nothing about who used it before.

This guide ranks six sellers whose own pages tie each private IP to one customer, scored on independent evidence and written buyer protections. It also shows how to check a new IP's history with free tools. It is written for legitimate work that needs a stable IP, such as allowlisted business access, SEO and ad checks, and logins to accounts you own. No seller paid for a place in this ranking, and no link on this page earns us money.

Christopher Vance, Web Infrastructure Specialist, explaining the best private proxies at TrustMyIP.com
Author: Christopher Vance Web Infrastructure Specialist
As a Chicago network engineer, I have spent more than a decade on web access systems and IP routing. Part of that work was on the detection side: the tools sites use to spot and block users by IP address. Detection tools never see the word "private" on a seller's invoice. They see the address's past, its /24 neighbors, the network that announces it and how many users seem to share it.
I bought none of these plans and tested none of them. Prices, terms and each seller's own definition of "private" come from its pages, read on October 20, 2026. Test figures are Proxyway's, mostly from its October 9, 2026 report on dedicated ISP proxies, and Proxyway notes that it earns affiliate revenue and that "Our reviews cost money." When two pages from one seller disagree, both versions appear below.

Quick Answer: Best Private Proxies

Oxylabs is the best private proxy provider for most buyers as of October 2026: single-user IPs in writing, free ASN choice and a $5 credit to test them. Byteful pairs 99.80% success (2025) with 10 subnets per 100 US IPs (2026) in Proxyway's tests, and HighProxies rents one private datacenter IP for $1.84 a month. Before you put an address to work, check each new IP against blocklists.

How Did We Pick the Best Private Proxies?

The candidate list combines the 11 providers in Proxyway's October 2026 test of dedicated ISP proxies with the private proxy sellers in the top search results on October 20, 2026. The searches included "best private proxies", "best dedicated proxies", "buy private proxy" and "dedicated proxies". For each seller we kept, we read the private or dedicated product pages, pricing, help center and terms, and recorded five things:

  • → What "private" means in writing: one customer per IP, or a shared tier sold under a friendlier name.
  • → Independent evidence on the dedicated IPs: Proxyway's 2025 and 2026 tests, with success rates, /24 subnets and residential labels.
  • → Buyer protections in writing: free IP replacement, refund or trial terms, and a choice of ASN or city.
  • → Price per IP: at 1, 10 and 100 IPs, with the smallest order you can place yourself.
  • → Limits: traffic or connection caps per IP, identity checks and refund exclusions.

The newest independent test of dedicated IPs we found is Proxyway's 2026 dedicated ISP proxy test, published October 9, 2026. It measured 100 dedicated ISP IPs per provider in the US, plus the UK and Hong Kong or Singapore where offered. Proxyway asked providers for the IPs and warns that its results "may not always match the self-service experience". Proxyway's reviews add older tests of some sellers' dedicated ISP IPs. We found no 2025 or 2026 test of dedicated datacenter IPs, so the evidence checks cover ISP products and datacenter claims rest on each seller's word.

Ranking rule: a seller qualified only if three things held. Its own pages say a private or dedicated IP goes to one customer. You can buy single IPs or small packs at a printed price without a sales call. It also passed our exclusion rule. We then scored six yes-or-no checks, shown in the scorecard below. Sellers with independent test data come first. Within each group, more checks rank higher. Ties go to more /24 subnets in Proxyway's 2026 US sample, then to the lower price per IP at 100 IPs. We stop at six picks.

What we did not do

TrustMyIP bought no plan and ran no test for this guide. No seller paid to appear or saw the text before publication. Prices are self-serve prices before VAT, as of October 2026. Our exclusion rule covers the private or dedicated product page and main-menu items. We leave out sellers that offer account creation there, multi-account use without bans or blocks, ban evasion, sneaker or ticket bots, or Craigslist posting. NetNut and the IPIDEA-linked brands named by Google are also left out, and free proxy lists are not covered.

What Do "Private" and "Dedicated" Mean at Each Seller?

Sellers use "private" and "dedicated" loosely, and a few use "private" for a shared tier. This is how each one defines its products in its own words, read on October 20, 2026:

Seller and Product What Its Own Page Says Customers per IP
Byteful ISP and datacenter "exclusively yours and not shared among multiple users"; "We do not offer shared Datacenter Proxies" One
Oxylabs dedicated datacenter "A dedicated proxy is exclusively assigned to a single user." One
Oxylabs shared ISP "Shared with up to 3 users", also labeled "Semi-dedicated" Up to three
Evomi static residential Private IPs are "dedicated to you alone"; Virgin IPs "have never been used by anyone before"; a cheaper Shared grade also exists One (Private, Virgin)
Proxy6 shared IPv4 Shared proxies go to "up to 3 persons" Up to three
Webshare private "Private proxies are shared with one or two other users" Two or three
Webshare dedicated "Dedicated proxies are fully yours: no other Webshare customer will ever use the same IP." One
LightningProxies datacenter "exclusive to LightningProxies and not shared with other providers" Not stated

Two more details matter. Byteful, a seller of dedicated ISP proxies, told Proxyway's 2026 market research that some providers are "sometimes selling multi-tenant IPs as dedicated proxies". It named no one and has a commercial reason to say it, but it is one more reason to read the sharing terms before you pay. Oxylabs' phrase "at a given time" is the accurate version of most private proxy promises. The IP is yours while you rent it, and someone else may well have used it before you.

None of this has anything to do with private IP addresses on local networks, such as 192.168.x.x, which never reach the public internet. A private proxy server always exits from a public address that websites can see and score.

Best Private Proxies Compared on Evidence, Protections and Price

Each check is a plain yes or no. The first three use Proxyway's tests of dedicated ISP IPs; the last three use each seller's own terms, read on October 20, 2026:

Seller 99%+ Success in Text (2025 or 2026) 10+ Subnets per 100 US IPs 90%+ Residential Free Swap Refund or Trial ASN or City Checks Passed
Oxylabs No: no figure in text No: 1 Yes: 100% No: one-time fee Yes: $5 credit Yes: ASN 3 of 6
Byteful Yes: 99.80% (Aug 2025) Yes: 10 No: 83% No No: pages conflict No 2 of 6
Rayobyte No: 81.14% (Apr 2025) No: 4 Yes: 100% Yes: credits No: pages conflict No 2 of 6
Evomi Yes: 100% (2026 test) No: 3 No: 76% No: not stated No: pages conflict No 1 of 6
HighProxies No test No test No test Yes: one a month Yes: 3 days No 2 of 6
SquidProxies No test No test No test No: not stated Yes: 7 days No 1 of 6

The subnet and residential columns come from Proxyway's US sample of 100 dedicated ISP IPs per seller, with residential labels from IP2Location's usage-type data. Proxyway's 2026 report shows most success rates only in charts, so the first column counts figures stated in text. A "no" under refund or trial means the seller's own pages contradict each other, not that no refund exists. Geonix and Proxy6 also passed the gates with one check each but cost more than SquidProxies at 100 IPs, so they sit in the not-ranked table.

The 6 Best Private Proxy Providers, Reviewed

The reviews follow the ranking rule above: sellers with independent test data first, then the rest. Each one lists real limits next to the strengths, quotes the seller's own sharing terms, and dates every price to October 2026. Test figures are Proxyway's, and none of them comes from TrustMyIP.

1. Oxylabs: Single-User IPs From a Network You Choose

Oxylabs sells dedicated datacenter and dedicated ISP proxies under a single subscription that covers all its products. Its datacenter page says "A dedicated proxy is exclusively assigned to a single user", and its developer docs call the dedicated ISP IPs "exclusive". The ISP pricing page offers "Free premium ASN selection", so you choose which consumer network announces your IPs. Proxyway's 2026 US sample was 100% residential but came from one subnet: "Oxylabs chose a different route, giving us only one subnet".

Where it wins

  • Self-serve ASN choice on dedicated ISP IPs at no extra cost, with HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5
  • All 100 IPs in the 2026 US sample were labeled residential, and every one matched its ASN and ISP
  • "At 40ms, Oxylabs responded extremely fast", a figure Proxyway believes is a new record
  • A free $5 welcome credit covers about two dedicated datacenter IPs or one ISP IP at list rates

Where it falls short

  • One /24 in the 2026 US sample, so a single range rule could catch every IP
  • Replacing an IP carries "a one-time fee (billed per IP)" whose amount is not published
  • Self-service purchases are "non-refundable", so the $5 credit is your only test
  • After 100 GB per proxy in a month, concurrent sessions drop from 100 to 10

Pricing as of October 2026: the $30 Starter plan buys up to 15 dedicated datacenter IPs at $2 each, or 10 ISP IPs at $3. The $100 Basic plan drops the rates to $1.75 and $2.78, and the $500 Flexible plan to $1.45 and $2.60. Dedicated products are billed daily, unused credit expires at the end of each cycle, and some older product pages still show "from $2.25/IP". Oxylabs notes that "VAT may apply", and every customer answers a KYC (know your customer) questionnaire about its use.

Verdict: the best private proxy provider for allowlisted logins and SEO or ad checks that must come from a named consumer ISP. Count the /24s in your list before you rely on it, because Proxyway's whole 2026 US sample sat in one range.

2. Byteful: Single-User IPs With Published Success and Subnet Data

Byteful, called Ping Proxies until its rebrand, also sells rotating residential and mobile proxies, but its static residential (ISP) and datacenter proxies are all single-user. Its ISP page says each IP "is exclusively yours and not shared among multiple users", and its datacenter page says "you are the sole user of the IPs you purchase". In Proxyway's August 2025 test of 100 of its US ISP IPs, all 100 were labeled residential. Its 2026 UK sample was the only one Proxyway credited with sourcing "directly from a major ISP".

Where it wins

  • Proxyway's August 2025 test of 100 dedicated US ISP IPs logged 99.80% success and an average response time of 0.17 s
  • 10 /24 subnets in the 2026 US sample of 100 IPs and 12 in the UK sample
  • Single-user wording on both its ISP and datacenter products
  • HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 support, plus login or IP-based authentication

Where it falls short

  • "We do not offer in-term proxy replacements for Static Proxies", so a flagged IP stays yours until renewal
  • Its refund policy allows one refund within 24 hours, but its terms say "All sales are final" and call refunds "a goodwill gesture"
  • ISP IPs are "randomly allocated from our available regional pools", with no choice of network
  • Only 83% of its 2026 US sample was labeled residential, and Proxyway noted "a brief period of instability" in its UK test

Pricing as of October 2026, before taxes: ISP proxies cost $30 for 10 IPs ($3 each), $2.85 each at 25 and $2.75 each at 100 IPs a month. Datacenter proxies cost $20 for 10 IPs ($2 each), $1.80 each at 25 and $1.60 each at 100. Custom orders start at one IP, but no single-IP price is printed. Its datacenter FAQ names New York, Miami and Germany as locations, and there is no free trial.

Verdict: the pick for buyers who want single-user IPs spread across many /24 ranges, backed by a published success figure. Order a small pack first: refunds are discretionary, limited to one per customer within 24 hours, and void after 2 GB or 25% of your allocation, whichever is lower.

3. Rayobyte: Free IP Replacement Credits

Rayobyte sells dedicated datacenter IPs in 29 countries and dedicated ISP IPs in six. Its datacenter page says "Each IP is assigned to your account alone", and its help center calls replacements "a complimentary benefit with your static proxy plan". You get one replacement credit per IP bought, and extra credits cost 50% of the monthly renewal price. One marketing page and Proxyway say replacements come monthly; its help center states no period. Its 2026 US sample spread across 4 /24s and 4 ASNs, all labeled residential.

Where it wins

  • The only tested pick with a free replacement credit for every IP, with swaps taking "up to 10 minutes"
  • All 100 IPs in the 2026 US sample were labeled residential, across 4 ASNs
  • Dedicated datacenter IPs in 29 countries, priced from $1.50 to $3.50 per IP
  • Prepaying 3, 6 or 12 months cuts datacenter prices by another 5%, 10% or 15%

Where it falls short

  • 81.14% success in Proxyway's April 2025 test, with "18 of our 100 proxy servers" offline throughout
  • Its help center offers a 2-day money-back guarantee, while its terms say fees "are not refundable"
  • Proxyway's 2026 report called its plans "broad and unjustifiably expensive"
  • A 5-IP minimum, and its order pages offer a country only, though a help article lists US cities for static datacenter IPs

Pricing as of October 2026, VAT not stated: US datacenter IPs cost $2.50 each for 5 to 99 IPs and $2.13 each at 100 to 999. The smallest order is five IPs for $12.50 a month. ISP IPs cost $5 each for 5 to 99 ($25 for five) and $4.80 each at 100 to 999.

Verdict: the pick if you expect to swap IPs and want swaps included in the price. Test a 5-IP order inside the 2-day window, given the offline IPs in its last full test.

4. Evomi: Never-Used Static Residential IPs

Evomi sells static residential IPs in three grades that "differ by how many other customers have used the address, not by speed". Private IPs "are dedicated to you alone", and Virgin IPs "have never been used by anyone before". In Proxyway's 2026 US test, "Evomi and NodeMaven actually succeeded 100% of the time with both testing setups". Proxyway did not say which grade it tested. Its sample came from 3 /24s in one ASN, and stock was US only, about 2,000 IPs in September 2026.

Where it wins

  • A Virgin grade with a written promise that nobody used the IP before you
  • 100% success in both US setups in Proxyway's 2026 test
  • Unlimited traffic and "up to 3000 concurrent connections"
  • Grades priced in the open: Shared, Private and Virgin

Where it falls short

  • 3 /24s and one ASN in the 2026 US sample, with 76% labeled residential
  • Its refund policy treats static IPs as "consumed upon delivery", while its pricing FAQ allows 30 days
  • Its terms let it rotate, reassign or change proxy IPs "at its discretion"
  • No written replacement policy, and its docs list no HTTPS port for static residential

Pricing as of October 2026, VAT not stated: Private IPs start at $2.50 per IP a month and Virgin IPs at $4.50, against $1.00 for the Shared grade. Billing is monthly by number of IPs, "Subscription only", and no volume tiers are shown.

Verdict: the pick when an IP's past matters more than its subnet spread, for US work only. Ask support which refund rule applies to your order before you pay, since its two pages conflict.

5. HighProxies: Single Private IPs With a Monthly Free Swap

HighProxies rents static datacenter IPv4 proxies from a single IP up. Its FAQ defines a private proxy as one "assigned to one customer rather than shared among unrelated users", and its terms grant a "single-user license". You may request "one free proxy replacement per billing month, excluding the first billing month". We found no independent test of its IPs, so everything here rests on its own pages.

Where it wins

  • One IP for $1.84 a month, with no setup fee
  • A free replacement every billing month after the first
  • Up to 100 concurrent connections per IP and unlimited bandwidth
  • Datacenters in 9 US cities plus London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, Rome, Madrid and Tokyo

Where it falls short

  • No independent test we could find, and no subnet figures
  • No free trial, and refunds only for a technical issue raised within three days
  • Crypto payments are "non-refundable under all circumstances"
  • Private plans support HTTP and HTTPS only, and a city or subnet needs a support request

Pricing as of October 2026, with HighProxies' "current 20% discount" applied: 1 IP costs $1.84 a month and 10 IPs $17.60 ($1.76 each). 100 IPs cost $134.40 (about $1.34 each), and 1,000 IPs cost $1,120. No VAT terms are stated.

Verdict: the pick when you need to buy one private proxy, or a handful, for a fixed job such as an allowlisted login. Test one IP before scaling, as the seller itself suggests.

6. SquidProxies: Low Per-IP Rates for Bulk Datacenter IPs

SquidProxies sells dedicated datacenter IPs in monthly packs from 10 IPs, with "No long-term contracts or cancellation fees". Its plan cards say "Dedicated IPs", and its glossary defines dedicated proxies as "exclusive IP addresses assigned to one user". Its product pages do not repeat that one-user promise, and we found no independent test of its IPs.

Where it wins

  • $1.00 per IP at 100 IPs, the lowest printed monthly rate at that size among our picks
  • A one-time 7-day money-back guarantee, and crypto payments qualify
  • Unlimited bandwidth and "100+ concurrent threads"
  • A limited free trial for qualified business customers

Where it falls short

  • No single-IP plan: the smallest order is 10 IPs
  • No replacement terms in its terms of service or product pages, and no subnet claims
  • Its "over 40" datacenter locations are not named; specific ones need a request
  • Its datacenter page promises data collection "without blocks or bans", which no seller can guarantee; we read it as a scraping claim

Pricing as of October 2026, VAT not stated: 10 IPs cost $15 a month ($1.50 each) and 50 IPs $55 ($1.10 each). 100 IPs cost $100 ($1.00 each), and 500 IPs $400 ($0.80 each).

Verdict: the pick for bulk private proxies where price per IP matters most. Before you buy dedicated proxies at that scale, ask support to confirm in writing that each IP goes to you alone and how replacements work.

Private Proxy Sellers We Did Not Rank

Several well-known private proxy providers are missing from the list above. These are the reasons, from each seller's own pages or the sources named, as of October 2026:

Seller Its Own Sharing Terms Why It Is Not Ranked
Proxy-Seller IPv4 IPs "remain exclusive to your account throughout the rental period" Excluded: its main-menu USA page sells private proxies that work "with sneakers sites or bots like Nike/Adidas/Supreme". Its 2026 US sample spread across 35 /24s, more than any seller ranked here
Webshare "Private" IPs are shared with one or two other users; dedicated IPs are never shared Excluded under our rule: its dedicated and private ISP pages offer to "Manage multiple accounts without triggering bans or verification loops"
Decodo Dedicated means "exclusively assigned to a single user at a time" Excluded: its dedicated proxies page offers to "Create and manage multiple social media or eCommerce accounts effortlessly" and to bypass IP bans
Bright Data Dedicated IPs come with "full exclusivity" Excluded: its datacenter page pitches running "multiple seller profiles or social media accounts without ever getting blocked"
IPRoyal Each datacenter proxy is "reserved just for you while you use it" Excluded: its datacenter page has an "Account Creation" use case, and its docs list a "Sneaker DC" product "compatible with most retail sites and bots out there"
Infatica Dedicated proxies are "used by only one user or device" Excluded: its ISP page says its proxies "can function as Supreme proxies", and its datacenter page offers to bypass IP bans
LightningProxies ISP IPs are dedicated to you; its datacenter "Dedicated" label means "exclusive to LightningProxies" At most one check (a 48-hour card refund), and it prints no rate at 10 or 100 IPs beyond "from $4/IP". Its main-menu Anti-Detect Browsers page pitches proxies so "multi-account workflows don't fold"
MyPrivateProxy, SSLPrivateProxy, InstantProxies, NewIPNow, PrivateProxy.me, MarsProxies, NodeMaven One user per private IP Excluded: each markets sneaker, ticket or Craigslist use on a product page or a main-menu item
Proxy-Cheap, Storm Proxies, IPBurger One user on dedicated plans; Proxy-Cheap's "private" page says "a limited number of users" Excluded: Proxy-Cheap's private page pitches "sneaker bot proxies", Storm's main menu lists "Ticketmaster & Ticket Sites", and IPBurger's menu sells IPs "ideal for account creation"
Proxy6 "except you nobody use them"; its Shared tier is for "up to 3 persons" Passed the gates with one check (a 1-day refund) and lost the price tie at 100 IPs ($1.238 each). IPv4 speed is listed at 10 Mbit/s
Geonix Proxies are "exclusively provided to individual users" Passed the gates with one check (a 24-hour refund) and lost the price tie at 100 IPs ($1.24 each). Its homepage lists "City/State selection", but its order page offers country only. Its FAQ caps connections at 6 per IP, while its public offer says 100
Proxy-IPv4 Promises no "unwanted neighbors" on your address No check passed: replacement only within a day of purchase, no refund terms on its main page, and prices printed only for a 3-day lease
ProxyEmpire static residential Each IP is "dedicated to one customer" No check passed: no independent test, no replacement policy, no targeting below country, and "All sales are final"
Massive, Live Proxies, Shifter, SOAX, DataImpulse No single-user static product on sale Massive's ISP docs describe rotating proxies, Live Proxies lists static residential as "Permanently Unavailable", Shifter makes no single-user claim, and SOAX and DataImpulse sell no dedicated plan
BartProxies Not reviewed Proxyway's report links no site for it, so we did not review its pages. Proxyway describes it as a "specialized provider for buying limited edition items"
NetNut No product on sale The FBI took over its domains on July 2, 2026, so there is nothing to buy
Luna Proxy, ABC Proxy, IP 2 World, PY Proxy, Tab Proxy Left out Google's Threat Intelligence Group reported on January 28, 2026 that the people behind IPIDEA control these brands

Next, match the type of private IP to your job.

Datacenter or ISP: Which Type of Private Proxy Do You Need?

A private or dedicated proxy server can give you one of three kinds of address, and the kind decides how websites score you. Our ranking covers the first two; mobile is shown for comparison:

Private IP Type Network That Announces It Monthly Price per IP Among Our Picks Fits
Dedicated datacenter A hosting or cloud company About $1.00 to $2.50 at 10 to 100 US IPs on monthly plans, as of October 2026 Allowlisted business APIs, internal tools and sites that accept server traffic
Dedicated ISP (static residential) A consumer internet provider, though the server usually sits in a datacenter About $2.50 to $5.00, as of October 2026 Logins to accounts you own, and checks on sites that score hosting IPs harshly
Dedicated mobile A mobile carrier Not covered here App and carrier-specific work, compared in our mobile proxy guide

Datacenter IPs are cheaper, but IP data firms flag hosting networks. MaxMind's support pages note that "Web hosting services can be used to create private proxies", and its data marks such addresses with an is_hosting_provider field. Choose datacenter when your target accepts server traffic. Our datacenter guide prices shared, dedicated and rotating plans for each seller it ranks; see datacenter plans compared by type.

If you want fast private proxies, a static ISP IP beats a rotating residential one by a wide margin. Proxyway's 2026 report found that a typical ISP proxy loads a 6 KB page "nearly eight times faster" than a residential one. Speed between our picks matters less than the type and the IP's history.

What Are Private Residential Proxies?

The phrase "private residential proxies" is the most confusing label in this market. Depending on the seller, it means one of three products:

  • → A reserved rotating pool: Live Proxies describes its private allocation as one where "your IPs are unique and only shared with you", but the addresses still rotate. A sticky session on a shared pool holds one IP for a while, but other customers use the same pool.
  • → A residential IP reserved for your target sites: Bright Data's dedicated residential IPs require "targeting a specific domain", and you are billed for the IPs allocated to you.
  • → A static ISP IP: one fixed address on a consumer network for the whole rental, as Byteful, Oxylabs and Evomi sell. Most buyers of dedicated residential proxies want this one.

Proxyway explains how the third kind exists: "Some companies have started registering their datacenter IPs under residential internet service providers." Before you pay for a private residential plan, ask which of the three you are buying.

How Much Should a Private Proxy Cost?

Private proxy prices are quoted per IP per month, and the rate falls as you buy more. These are the per-IP rates for our picks, read on October 20, 2026, before any VAT:

Seller and Type 1 IP 10 IPs, Each 100 IPs, Each Smallest Order
Oxylabs dedicated ISP $3.00 rate $3.00 $2.60 on the $500 plan $30 plan, or the $5 free credit
Oxylabs dedicated datacenter $2.00 rate $2.00 $1.45 on the $500 plan $30 plan, or the $5 free credit
Byteful ISP No price shown $3.00 $2.75 10-IP tier; custom from 1 IP
Byteful datacenter No price shown $2.00 $1.60 10-IP tier; custom from 1 IP
Rayobyte US datacenter Not sold $2.50 $2.13 5 IPs for $12.50
Rayobyte ISP Not sold $5.00 $4.80 5 IPs for $25
Evomi Private static residential From $2.50 No tiers shown No tiers shown Not stated
HighProxies datacenter $1.84 $1.76 About $1.34 1 IP
SquidProxies datacenter Not sold $1.50 $1.00 10 IPs for $15

One row needs a second look. At Oxylabs, the plan sets your spend: 100 dedicated ISP IPs at $2.60 use $260 of the $500 Flexible plan. Unused credit expires at the end of the cycle unless other Oxylabs products use it.

The floor under every private proxy price is the IPv4 address itself. ARIN issued its last free IPv4 addresses on September 24, 2015, and RIPE NCC made its final /22 allocation on November 25, 2019. Sellers now lease or buy addresses. IPXO, an IPv4 marketplace, reports platform lease averages "between $0.40 and $0.34 per IP address" from June 2025 to May 2026.

Proxyway's 2026 report says dedicated ISP IPs "generally cost between $2 and $4 per IP address". It also warns that "customers who buy just one proxy seriously overpay for the privilege." Byteful, Oxylabs and Evomi's Private grade sit inside that range; Rayobyte at $5 and Evomi's Virgin grade at $4.50 sit above it. No seller here charges less per IP for one address than for ten.

How many IPs should you buy? Count the jobs that need their own fixed address, such as each allowlisted connection or team login, not your total requests. Each IP then carries its share of traffic within the per-IP caps below. If one range rule would stop your work, ask the seller to spread your IPs across several /24s; Oxylabs' 100-IP test sample sat in one.

Cheap private proxies under about $1 a month usually cut something. As of October 2026, Proxy6's $0.413 tier is shared by "up to 3 persons", and both its shared and individual IPv4 proxies are listed at 10 Mbit/s. Geonix's FAQ allows 6 connections per IP, though its public offer says 100.

Behind the word "unlimited", Oxylabs cuts sessions to 10 per IP after 100 GB a month, HighProxies allows 100 connections per IP and Evomi up to 3,000 concurrent connections. Byteful's blog cites a "200GB/IP fair-usage allowance", a figure its terms do not repeat. Rayobyte's terms flag more than 0.03 TB per IP in 30 days for review, though its help center calls static bandwidth "unmetered".

Does a Private Proxy IP Come With a Clean History?

Not necessarily. "Private" covers the months you rent the IP, not the years before. Oxylabs' "at a given time" and Rayobyte's "while they are yours" both limit the promise to your term. Asked about prior use, Geonix's FAQ says "neither we nor the hosting provider give such a guarantee." Among our picks, only Evomi's Virgin grade promises an address nobody used before.

History sticks to addresses that change hands. A RIPE Labs study of transferred addresses, published August 14, 2020, found that "transferred /24 sub-prefixes are 6x more likely to be blacklisted". Leased space is common in this business: Byteful counts "IP address leasing" among the raw inputs behind static ISP proxies.

Neighbors matter too. The Spamhaus Blocklist documentation says "Both individual IPs and IP ranges are provided in this dataset", and listings can widen to more of a network. Cloudflare's IP Access rules let a site block one IP, a whole /24 or /16, or an ASN. A range rule written for someone else can catch you, which is how blocks left by earlier users reach a new tenant.

Sharing can show as well. MaxMind's data includes a user_count field, "The estimated number of users sharing the IP/network during the past 24 hours", so a busy "private" IP can look shared. Proxyway adds that "IP usage history and scraper setup may play as big a role" as the IP's tier. When a new IP arrives already flagged, this is what each pick offers, as of October 2026:

Seller Free Swap for a Flagged IP? What Its Pages Say
Oxylabs No A one-time fee per IP, amount not published
Byteful No No in-term replacements for static proxies
Rayobyte Yes One free credit per IP bought; extra credits at 50% of the renewal price
Evomi Not stated No replacement policy found; its terms let it reassign IPs
HighProxies Yes, monthly One free replacement per billing month, from the second month
SquidProxies Not stated No replacement terms in its terms of service or on its product pages

Five questions to ask before you buy private proxies

Does your sharing promise cover one customer per IP, in writing? Will you swap an IP that arrives already blocklisted, free of charge, and how fast? How many /24 ranges will the order span? Which ASN or ISP will the IPs come from? What traffic or connection cap sits behind "unlimited"? A seller that answers all five in writing is easier to hold to its word.

How Can You Check Your New Private Proxy IPs Yourself?

Because a private plan gives you a fixed list of dedicated proxy IPs, you can run every check below from your normal connection, without sending traffic through the proxy. Do it inside the refund window: 24 hours at Byteful, 2 days at Rayobyte, 3 days at HighProxies and 7 days at SquidProxies. Oxylabs gives no refunds, so test with its $5 credit first.

One common test proves less than it seems. Getting the same IP on every request shows that the IP is static, not that nobody else uses it. These five checks catch the problems you can see:

Five Checks to Run on a New Private IP

1 Count the /24 ranges

Group your IPs by their first three numbers, such as 203.0.113. Each group is one /24. If all 10 of your IPs share one group, a single range rule can block every one of them.

2 Run every IP through the blocklists

Use the blocklist check from the Quick Answer on each address. A listing on day one is a reason to ask for a swap inside the refund window. A Spamhaus PBL (Policy Blocklist) entry alone marks an end-user range that should not send email directly, not abuse.

3 Rule out cloud ranges

Spot cloud and VPS addresses in a list sold as ISP or residential. A match with AWS, Google Cloud or another host means you were sold server IPs.

4 Match each IP to its network

Count the ASNs in your list by looking up each IP. Check each one against what you paid for: a consumer ISP for ISP proxies, or the exact ASN you chose at Oxylabs.

5 Look for proxy flags

Check proxy and hosting flags on a sample of IPs. The tool reads one geolocation source and six blocklists and has no abuse-report history, so use it as a flag check only.

No tool can prove that nobody else uses your IP. Exclusivity is a contract term, so save the seller's sharing promise with your order. If logins from a private IP start failing without a change on your side, ask the seller for a swap and an explanation.

Which Mistakes Do Private Proxy Buyers Make?

Most mistakes come from trusting a label. Each example below comes from a seller's own wording or a source quoted above, checked in October 2026:

  1. Reading "private" as single-user. Webshare's private tier is shared with one or two other users, and Oxylabs labels its shared ISP proxies "Semi-dedicated".
  2. Buying every IP in one range. Oxylabs' 2026 US test sample came from one /24, which one rule can block.
  3. Skipping the fine print behind "unlimited". Oxylabs cuts sessions from 100 to 10 per IP after 100 GB in a month.
  4. Missing the refund window. Byteful's policy allows one discretionary refund per customer, within 24 hours, and Proxy6 gives one day.
  5. Buying ISP addresses for jobs that datacenter IPs handle. If your target accepts server traffic, a dedicated datacenter IP costs less at every pick here that sells both.
  6. Hunting for a free private proxy. Free proxy lists are public by design, so nobody who uses one has it alone.
  7. Treating a private IP as permission. Sellers' rules still apply: HighProxies' terms ban "social media account farming", and Byteful's bar "Fraudulent purposes including ad fraud".

Watch for this one: per-IP labels on a shared pool

LightningProxies' datacenter FAQ defines "Dedicated" as IPs "exclusive to LightningProxies and not shared with other providers", which says nothing about other customers. Massive prices its ISP plans per IP, $3 per IP on its smallest plan as of October 2026, yet its docs describe "rotating proxies" with "Automatic IP rotation". If you need one fixed address for yourself, ask for a list of specific IPs, each assigned to your account alone.

The Short Version

For most buyers, the best private proxies as of October 2026 come from Oxylabs. Its dedicated IPs go to one customer each, you choose the ASN behind ISP IPs, and a $5 credit lets you test first. Byteful pairs 99.80% success in Proxyway's 2025 test with 10 subnets per 100 US IPs in its 2026 test. Rayobyte fits when you expect to swap IPs, and Evomi's Virgin grade suits buyers who care most about an IP's past.

If You Need Pick Why
A named consumer ISP behind each IP Oxylabs Self-serve ASN choice on dedicated ISP IPs
IPs spread across many /24 ranges Byteful 10 /24s per 100 US IPs in Proxyway's 2026 sample
Swaps included in the price Rayobyte One free replacement credit per IP
An IP nobody used before Evomi Virgin A written promise that nobody used the IP before
One fixed datacenter IP HighProxies $1.84 a month, as of October 2026
Many datacenter IPs at a low rate SquidProxies $1.00 per IP at 100 IPs, as of October 2026

If your job needs consumer network addresses more than single-user terms, see static ISP proxies compared. For carrier IPs, our mobile guide covers dedicated 4G and 5G devices.

Whichever seller you choose, treat "private" as a contract term, not a property of the IP. Sellers revise prices and terms often; everything here reflects their pages on October 20, 2026. Sellers that change their terms can point us to the new page, and we will re-check it at the next review. Run each new IP through the blocklist check above before you put it to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q What are the best private proxies?

A
As of October 2026, the best private proxies for most buyers come from Oxylabs. Its dedicated datacenter and ISP IPs go to one customer each, you choose the network (ASN) behind ISP IPs, and a free $5 credit lets you test. Byteful had 99.80% success in Proxyway's August 2025 test, Rayobyte includes free replacement credits, and HighProxies rents one private IP for $1.84 a month.

Q What is the difference between a private and a dedicated proxy?

A
Usually none: most sellers use both words for an IP assigned to one customer. Some sellers break that rule. Webshare's FAQ says "Private proxies are shared with one or two other users", while its dedicated proxies are never shared. Oxylabs labels its shared ISP tier "Semi-dedicated". Before you buy, read the seller's sharing terms, not the product name.

Q How do you get private proxies?

A
Buy them from a seller whose terms assign each IP to one customer, then choose the type, country and number of IPs. As of October 2026, HighProxies sells a single private proxy, and Oxylabs' free $5 credit covers about two dedicated datacenter IPs. Start small, check each IP against blocklists and cloud ranges, and act inside the refund window, which is 24 hours at Byteful.

Q Are private residential proxies real?

A
Yes, but the label covers three products. Some sellers mean a rotating residential pool reserved for your account. Bright Data means residential IPs reserved for your target domains, and others mean a static ISP IP that stays yours for the whole rental. Only the last gives you one fixed address, so ask which one a plan is before you pay.

Q How much do private proxies cost?

A
As of October 2026, the best private proxies in this guide cost about $1.00 to $2.50 per US datacenter IP on monthly plans, before any VAT. Dedicated ISP IPs cost about $2.50 to $5.00. HighProxies rents a single IP for $1.84, and SquidProxies charges $1.00 per IP at 100. Proxyway's 2026 report found that buyers of one proxy "seriously overpay for the privilege".

Q Can a private proxy still get blocked?

A
Yes. Even the best private proxies carry their address's past, because "private" covers only your rental period. A RIPE Labs study found transferred /24 ranges, blocks of 256 addresses, six times more likely to be blacklisted. Sites can also block a whole range or network with one rule. Check each new IP against blocklists on day one, and favor sellers that swap flagged IPs for free.

Q How can you tell if a proxy is really private?

A
No outside tool can prove that nobody else uses an IP. Start with the seller's written terms, which should promise one customer per IP for the whole rental. Then watch for warning signs: a "private" tier priced like a shared one, or terms that mention "semi-dedicated" plans or a number of users per IP. Keep a copy of those terms with your order.
