Best UK Proxy Providers: British IPs You Can Check Yourself

Oxylabs earns our best UK proxy pick: in Proxyway's April 2026 test, its UK residential pool returned 254,230 distinct IPs, far more than any other seller that passed our vetting. SOAX posted the highest success rate on United Kingdom IPs of our three picks in Proxyway's reviews, 99.87%, and lists 49 UK cities and districts across all four nations. Byteful, which Proxyway lists as a UK company, answered fastest of the three, at 0.35 seconds on average. SOAX and Byteful sit almost level on distinct IPs, so the reviews spell out the trade-offs.

A UK proxy routes your web requests via an address based in the United Kingdom, so a website treats each visit as British. New to the idea? Read proxy servers from the ground up. Google has picked the country version of Search from a visitor's location since 2017, and in a proxy check that location usually comes from the IP, not from typing google.co.uk. This guide is for UK search and ad checks, price and stock tracking at Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Tesco or Currys, and pre-launch tests of British pages.

Our picks rest on Proxyway's UK-only pool test from its 2026 market research. Each seller's own pages supplied its UK pool claims, targeting, proxy types and dated prices, and every seller had to clear our vetting rule first. Our role was reading and checking sources, not testing proxies. No seller paid for a place, and no link in this guide earns a fee.

Christopher Vance, Web Infrastructure Specialist, comparing UK proxy providers for TrustMyIP.com
Author: Christopher Vance Web Infrastructure Specialist
I have spent more than ten years in Chicago building and studying web access systems, including the IP checks that websites run to decide how to treat a visitor. So when I size up a UK proxy, I ask what those checks would see. Does the exit belong to a British home network such as BT or Sky? And which town will a location database print for it?
I bought no proxy and ran no tests for this guide. I read every source here on October 27, 2026, from seller pages and Proxyway's reports to registry records. Proxyway makes money from affiliate links. That is why its name sits beside every test figure, and why I checked each seller's UK claims on its own site. Where two sources disagree, you get both versions.

Quick Answer: Best UK Proxy Service

Oxylabs covers the most ground: no seller that passed our vetting returned more distinct UK IPs in Proxyway's 2026 test, and it sells all four proxy types. SOAX suits city, nation or ISP targeting and had the best UK success rate of the three in Proxyway's reviews. Byteful answered fastest of the three and sells 10 GB of residential traffic for $32.50, or $3.25 per GB, as of October 2026.

The Ranking Rule Behind These UK Proxy Providers

Every test figure here comes from Proxyway, a proxy review site, through its seller reviews and the UK pool in its 2026 study. Its UK test drew on each seller's residential pool with only British exits allowed: 560,000 requests across 14 days, 40,000 a day, from a testing server in Germany. A separate UK mobile test sent 280,000 requests. Most of the study's data, Proxyway says, dates from March and April 2026.

Ranking rule: 99% infrastructure success on the UK pool is the bar, and only sellers that already passed our vetting rule are measured against it. Qualifiers are ordered by distinct UK IPs, which Proxyway prints on its review pages rather than in the study's text. On October 27, 2026, we also read each seller's UK page, product pages and pricing for pool claims, targeting, proxy types and prices.

One wrinkle needed a call. In the study's success table, the UK value for each of the five sellers we checked equals the Brazil value on that seller's review page, and the reverse. The study's own UK response times and residential shares agree with the review pages. So we take UK success rates from the reviews and rank only sellers that clear 99% on both readings.

Oxylabs, SOAX and Byteful clear it. Rayobyte does not: its review page shows 97.18% for the UK, against 99.44% in the study's table, so it gets a note below but no rank. Five more sellers cleared 99% on both readings but fail our vetting: Decodo, DataImpulse, Evomi, Webshare and ProxyEmpire. Infatica, Proxyrack, IPRoyal and NetNut missed 99% on both.

Read the numbers with two limits in mind. Each response time covers the trip from Proxyway's server in Germany, through the seller's gateway, to a UK exit, and Proxyway lists no UK gateway for any of the three. The sample is also modest: 560,000 requests is under half the 1.2 million Proxyway sent to its US and EU pools. Expect smaller UK distinct-IP counts as a result, and keep them out of any US or EU comparison.

Why we skip Proxyway's own UK page

Proxyway's UK location page, last modified in March 2026, has affiliate links and six coupon codes, and it points readers to the 2025 study for its method. The success and response figures for all seven of its picks match that study's UK column. It still ranks NetNut first, while its NetNut entry says "NetNut has been taken down by Google and the FBI." A heading above its detailed reviews reads "The Best US Proxy Providers for 2026".

How a seller gets dropped

No seller saw or approved this guide. A seller is out if its product or location page, homepage, a main-menu item or a footer link, or the page one of those opens, pushes a use we exclude. Those uses are fraud, posting on Craigslist, bots for sneaker or ticket drops, getting round bans, creating accounts, and running many accounts so that bans, blocks or detection miss them. NetNut is out too, as is every brand Google's Threat Intelligence Group linked to IPIDEA. Prices quoted are October 2026 list prices, and tax may be added.

UK Proxies Compared: Distinct IPs, Success Rates and Targeting

Proxyway's review pages supply these UK results from its April 2026 tests: the 560,000-request residential pool, plus the separate 280,000-request mobile test.

Seller Distinct UK IPs UK Success Avg / P95 Response UK Mobile Pool
Oxylabs 254,230 99.68% 0.45 s / 0.96 s 115,648 IPs at 99.31%
SOAX 159,255 99.87% 0.49 s / 1.19 s 16,031 IPs at 99.81%
Byteful 159,111 99.51% 0.35 s / 0.62 s 57,445 IPs at 99.52%
Rayobyte (not ranked) 165,318 97.18% 1.14 s / 6.78 s 5,669 IPs at 75.34%

Byteful posted the lowest average and the lowest 95th percentile, so it is our pick for a fast UK proxy. Rayobyte reached more distinct IPs than SOAX or Byteful, but one request in 20 took 6.78 seconds or longer, and its mobile pool failed about a quarter of requests. Next, what each ranked seller's own pages say about UK targeting and proxy types in October 2026:

Seller UK Targeting Types Sold in the UK
Oxylabs City, coordinates or ASN; no network tied to UK exits Residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter
SOAX 49 cities and districts, four nations, 50 named networks Residential and mobile; datacenter in the US only
Byteful Region, city, ISP and ASN; names three British cities Residential and mobile; UK page also claims ISP and datacenter

Only SOAX names British networks on its UK page, from BT and Sky Broadband to EE and Three. All three ranked sellers list SOCKS5 as well as HTTP, and SOAX also lists UDP over QUIC for residential and mobile traffic. Later, we hold each advertised UK total up against the addresses Proxyway actually counted.

Best British Proxy Providers: Oxylabs, SOAX and Byteful Up Close

These are the three best United Kingdom proxy sellers under our rule, listed by distinct UK IPs. Only 144 addresses separate SOAX and Byteful, so treat those two as level. A wins and falls-short grid closes every review, drawn from Proxyway's tests and each seller's own pages.

1. Oxylabs: The Deepest UK Pool We Rank and Every Proxy Type

Oxylabs sells all four proxy types for the UK. Per its product pages, Britain accounts for 3,502,538 residential, 1,449,139 mobile, "54k" ISP and "117k" datacenter IPs at Oxylabs. Proxyway's April 2026 test drew 254,230 distinct IPs from its UK pool, about 45 per 100 requests, at 99.68% success and a 0.45-second average. Its UK mobile pool reached 115,648 distinct IPs at 99.31%, the most of the three.

Oxylabs' October 2026 pricing puts residential traffic at $6 per GB under the $30 Starter plan, dropping to $2.50 per GB from 1,000 GB. Mobile starts at $7.50 per GB, and shared ISP IPs, each used by up to three users, at $1.50 on the smallest plan. Single-user datacenter IPs cost $2 each at the entry tier. Its plans say "VAT may apply", and new accounts get a $5 welcome credit.

Where it wins

  • The most distinct UK IPs of any seller that passed our vetting, residential and mobile
  • All four proxy types in Britain, each with its own UK count
  • UK exits filterable by city, by coordinates or by ASN
  • Sticky mobile IPs kept for as long as 24 hours
  • SOCKS5 and HTTP3 support next to HTTP(S)

Where it falls short

  • Its UK totals disagree: "6,339,966 IPs" at the top of its UK page, "over 3 million" lower down, and about 5.1 million across its product pages
  • Its UK page lists $8 per GB residential and $9 mobile, while its pricing pages say $6 and $7.50 (October 2026)
  • No British network is tied to its UK stock; its ISP page names BT among its networks without saying where
  • Proxyway says its filters allow "either a country or ASN", and ZIP targeting covers the US only
  • The steepest residential entry rate of the three, and some advanced filters may need a KYC check

Best for: teams that want the deepest UK pool we rank and residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter IPs on one account.

2. SOAX: 49 Cities, Four Nations and Named British Networks

SOAX's UK page lists 49 cities and districts, from London, Birmingham and Glasgow to Cardiff and Belfast. Eleven of them are London boroughs or districts, such as Hackney and Croydon. Its region list covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and it names 50 networks, including BT, Sky Broadband, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone. Proxyway counted 159,255 distinct UK IPs from SOAX at 99.87% success.

SOAX's per-GB rate depends on a country tier, and its pricing page never says where the UK sits. Its billing guide groups the UK with the US and Western Europe as "higher-tier countries" that cost more per GB, and the US sits in Tier 1. As of October 2026, Tier 1 traffic runs $5 per GB with no plan fee on Sandbox, or $3 per GB on Builder, a $200-a-month plan plus VAT. You can target cities, regions and ISPs on any plan, but ASN and ZIP targeting need Scale or above, from $1,500 a month plus VAT.

Where it wins

  • Top UK success rate among our three picks, 99.87%, in Proxyway's April 2026 test
  • All four UK nations and 49 cities and districts, the widest UK list here
  • Named British home and mobile networks, targetable by ISP on every plan
  • The highest share of UK IPs typed as ISP or mobile of the three: 99.72%
  • UDP over QUIC on residential and mobile traffic, besides HTTP(S) and SOCKS5

Where it falls short

  • The UK's price tier is missing from its pricing page (October 2026)
  • Datacenter IPs only in the US and no ISP product in Britain, per its UK page's "British residential, mobile and US Datacenter proxies"
  • The smallest UK mobile sample of the three: 16,031 distinct IPs in Proxyway's test
  • Its network list repeats Hyperoptic three times and mixes in non-consumer networks such as Cogent Communications and Janet University Network
  • No free trial, and its pricing page calls payments "generally non-refundable"

Best for: checks that must come from a specific UK nation, city or network, such as Glasgow ads against Cardiff ads.

3. Byteful: The Quickest UK Responses We Rank and a Big Mobile Pool

No seller that passed our vetting beat Byteful's UK average of 0.35 seconds in Proxyway's April 2026 test, and 95% of its requests finished within 0.62 seconds. Its UK pool yielded 159,111 distinct IPs, with 99.51% of requests succeeding. Its UK mobile pool returned 57,445 distinct IPs at 99.52%, and Proxyway's study names it the fastest mobile pool it tested, at 0.40 seconds.

Proxyway's study lists Byteful under "Country: UK", and its review says European requests passed through a Dutch gateway. Byteful's October 2026 tiers run from $3.25 per GB for 10 GB ($32.50) to $2.75 per GB for 100 GB. Ten GB of mobile traffic costs $42.50, or $4.25 per GB. Lower "As low as" figures on the UK page do not match those tiers, so read the checkout total.

Where it wins

  • The fastest UK residential responses of any seller that passed our vetting, and Proxyway's fastest mobile pool
  • The second-largest UK mobile sample of the three, at 57,445 distinct IPs
  • $3.25 per GB on a 10 GB pack, the cheapest confirmed per-GB start of the three (October 2026)
  • Carrier and ASN targeting "as standard" on every residential plan
  • Sticky sessions of up to 24 hours on residential and mobile traffic

Where it falls short

  • Its UK page's "326,045 Monthly Active IPs" is one figure repeated on every product page, so no proxy type gets its own UK count
  • Its datacenter FAQ puts its datacenter proxies in "New York, Miami, and Germany", though its UK page offers UK datacenter proxies
  • No British ISP is named on its UK page, and its one UK ISP page, for Community Fibre, sits off the main menu
  • Its UK page offers a 1 GB trial, its pricing FAQ says there is none, and Proxyway says an identity check comes first
  • The "As low as" prices on its UK page do not match its product tiers

Best for: fast residential or mobile UK exits at the lowest confirmed starting rate per GB of the three.

Why Rayobyte is not ranked: it passes our vetting and returned 165,318 distinct UK IPs, more than SOAX or Byteful. But its review page puts UK success at 97.18%, and Proxyway's study calls its mobile network "highly imbalanced" and very small in countries like the UK. Its UK ISP and datacenter IPs appear in the next section, with their prices.

Types of UK Proxy Servers: Residential, Mobile, ISP and Private

Proxyway's UK figures cover rotating residential and mobile pools. Fixed IPs, test servers and named mobile networks call for a different type of United Kingdom proxy server, and sometimes for a different seller.

UK Residential and Rotating Proxies

A UK residential proxy exits through a home broadband line, so the IP ought to be registered to a consumer ISP like BT, Sky, Virgin Media or TalkTalk. Rotating UK proxies swap that IP for each request or after a set session. Oxylabs, SOAX and Byteful each sell rotating residential traffic that exits in Britain. At $3.25 per GB for a 10 GB pack in October 2026, Byteful has the lowest confirmed starting rate per GB among them.

Three more vetted sellers offer British residential traffic without a 2026 Proxyway test. As of October 2026, Databay's shared Residential Flex pool costs $13.75 for 25 GB, with exits chosen by country or continent, not city. Proxidize asks $25 a month for a 25 GB plan, offers city targeting and requires KYC from every customer. PacketStream sells UK exits by country code at $1 per GB, with a $50 minimum. Proxyway's last UK test of it, in March 2024, reached 2,040 distinct IPs at 96.35%.

UK Mobile and 4G Proxies on EE, O2, Vodafone and Three

A UK mobile proxy exits through a cellular network. Ofcom names the four operators as Vodafone, EE, Three and O2, and says all four have completed their 3G switch-offs. Vodafone UK and Three UK merged on May 31, 2025, as VodafoneThree, and on July 30, 2026, Vodafone said it owns all of it. So two of the four brands share one owner.

Among the ranked sellers, only SOAX names UK mobile networks on its UK page: "Ee", "Three", "Telefonica O2 Uk" and "Vodafone Uk", plus Lycamobile, with ISP targeting on every plan. Oxylabs and Byteful sell UK mobile traffic without naming a carrier. Need carrier IPs outside Britain too? Compare the mobile pools ranked worldwide.

One quirk matters for checks. EE's own network number, AS12576, has not been visible in global routing since April 29, 2026, according to bgp.he.net. RIPEstat shows at least one EE mobile range announced by BT's AS2856, so an EE exit can look like BT in an ASN lookup. The only UK-registered seller we found that lets you choose EE, O2, Vodafone or Three failed our vetting, as the left-out list explains.

UK ISP Proxies: Static IPs on Home Networks

A UK ISP proxy, also sold as static residential, keeps one IP registered to a consumer network for as long as you rent it. As of October 2026, Oxylabs lists "54k" UK ISP IPs, dedicated or shared. Its shared ISP IPs, each used by up to three users, cost $1.50 on the smallest plan and $1.10 at volume. Rayobyte sells UK ISP IPs at $5 each a month for 5 to 99, though its rotating residential pool missed our UK bar.

Byteful's UK page offers static residential ISP proxies but gives no UK count or network. Proxyway's 2026 ISP test did include a Byteful UK sample, which it credited with sourcing "directly from a major ISP", as our dedicated IP shortlist explains. SOAX sells no UK ISP product.

Private and Dedicated UK Proxies

A private UK proxy is an IP rented to you alone. Most are datacenter addresses registered to hosting networks, and some sites refuse those on sight, as the case against hosting ranges shows. As of October 2026, these vetted sellers offer dedicated or fixed UK datacenter IPs:

  • → Oxylabs: "117k" UK datacenter IPs, dedicated at $2 per IP on the smallest plans, falling to $1.20 at volume, with location set by country only. Its UK page still says dedicated datacenter "Pricing starts at $8.25/month".
  • → Rayobyte: dedicated UK datacenter IPs at $3 each a month for 5 to 99, against $2.50 for US IPs.
  • → HighProxies: dedicated London IPv4 from one server, listed as in stock, that holds 1,024 proxies over HTTP and HTTPS. Its UK page charges $2.56 a month for one, while its general private-proxy page lists $1.84, so confirm at checkout.
  • → WonderProxy: 35 test IPs in 11 UK cities: 21 in London, 5 in Manchester and one each in places such as Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast. Its $40 Professional plan covers 5 locations and 2 GB, and extra traffic is billed.
  • → BuyProxies.org: dedicated IPs at $2.50 each in packs of five, with a UK exit only when its configuration step confirms one. In its store, the location choices read "Any available location, USA, Europe".

Byteful is missing because its datacenter FAQ puts its datacenter proxies in New York, Miami and Germany, though a location card on that page shows the UK. SOAX's UK page offers datacenter proxies only in the US. The big clouds run UK regions as well: AWS and Google Cloud in London, Azure in London and Cardiff, and Vultr in London and Manchester. Those IPs carry the cloud's own network number, as the lists further down show.

Which Jobs Need a UK IP Address, and Which Proxy Fits Each?

A UK exit matters for a different reason in each job below, so the best pick changes from job to job:

  • → UK search results: Google shows each visitor the country version of Search that matches their location by default, whatever domain they type. In April 2025, Google's post on country domains said it would begin redirecting country-code domains to google.com. Oxylabs' rotating pool suits checks at volume, and SOAX can pin a city such as Leeds or Cardiff for local results.
  • → UK ad checks: for ads aimed at phone users, check from mobile IPs. Among sellers that passed our vetting, Oxylabs returned the most distinct UK mobile IPs and Byteful the fastest responses. SOAX can target a named network such as EE or Three.
  • → Prices and stock at Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Tesco or Currys: repeated checks across many product pages suit a rotating residential pool. Keep one sticky session per basket so a checkout flow stays on one IP; Byteful holds sessions for up to 24 hours.
  • → Localization QA: before launch, confirm that UK visitors see pounds, UK spelling and the right delivery options. WonderProxy's fixed servers in all four nations suit repeatable tests, and SOAX reaches the same nations from home IPs.

Brand protection follows the ad-check route: rotate through residential or mobile IPs to see which UK resellers and ads use your name.

UK GDPR, the ICO and Proxy Checks

The ICO lists IP addresses among the online identifiers that may be personal data under the UK GDPR, in its guidance on online identifiers. That page says it is under review after the Data (Use and Access) Act. Checking public prices or search results gathers little about people, but collecting UK users' profiles or reviews brings data protection law into play. The ICO also put its name to a 2023 joint statement on scraping, which says public personal data stays protected in most places. Before you collect any personal data, public or not, ask a lawyer.

Millions of UK IPs? Reading Pool Claims Against Proxyway's Counts

Sellers print big UK numbers that rarely measure the same thing. Oxylabs' UK page says "6,339,966 IPs" and, lower down, "over 3 million Datacenter and Residential UK proxies", while its four product pages add up to about 5.1 million. SOAX's UK page offers "2,765,400 British IPs" without splitting them by type. Byteful's UK page shows "326,045 Monthly Active IPs", the same UK figure as on every product page.

Databay is more careful. It publishes a UK snapshot of 1,205,913 addresses from June 2026, spread over 199 networks, and says the figure is not "live inventory, a product-specific count, or an online-at-once total".

What two weeks of requests reveal

Proxyway's 560,000 UK requests reached 254,230 distinct Oxylabs IPs, about 45 per 100 requests, and about 28 per 100 at SOAX and Byteful. Oxylabs' figure is about 7% of its residential UK claim, and SOAX's is about 6% of its UK total. A sample cannot prove a claim false, since an IP that never answered may still exist. What it measures is reach: how many different UK addresses 40,000 requests a day turned up over two weeks.

Address type is the second signal. IP2Location typed 98.19% of the UK IPs Proxyway saw from Oxylabs as ISP or mobile addresses, against 99.72% for SOAX and 98.70% for Byteful, so few looked like hosting. On mobile, Oxylabs claims 1,449,139 UK IPs, and Proxyway's 280,000 mobile requests met 115,648 of them, about 8%.

Cities, Nations and Networks: Targeting Inside the UK

SOAX gives the fullest UK map of our picks: 49 cities and districts plus all four nations, each selectable on every plan. Byteful offers region, city and ISP targeting but names only London, Manchester and Edinburgh on its UK page. Oxylabs offers city and coordinate targeting, and its UK page shows a four-row table of London, Loughborough, Millwall and Norwich without saying which product it covers.

For Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, two vetted options stand out. SOAX lists all four nations and cities such as Glasgow and Belfast, and WonderProxy runs single test servers in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. Time is simpler than in Australia or the US. Per GOV.UK, the whole UK changes its clocks on the same dates: to GMT on October 25, 2026, and to BST on March 28, 2027.

UK City Labels: How Often Databases Miss

MaxMind's comparison tool, read in October 2026, shows its paid GeoIP City data placing 68% of UK addresses within 50 km of where they really are. It puts 21% further away and gives no city for 11%. IP2Location reports 81.25% of UK IPs within 50 miles and city data for 96.87%, so the two use different yardsticks.

A Three support reply says as much: a staff member told a Loughborough customer, whom websites placed in Nottingham or Grantham, that "Cellular location isn't always precise". Community Fibre gives customers who joined or renewed since June 4, 2026, a shared CGNAT address by default, with a public IP at £4 a month (October 2026). Our explainer on why an IP's town is wrong covers the causes.

Reading the ASN: UK Home, Mobile and Hosting Networks

An ASN lookup names the network that announces an IP. Openreach calls its line network the biggest, and it says more than 650 providers sell service over it, including Sky, TalkTalk, BT and Zen. So a home IP on an Openreach line shows the retail ISP's network, not Openreach. BT's retail arm held 30.3% of UK residential and small-business broadband lines at the end of 2024, per Ofcom.

UK home and mobile networks, with the holder names RIPEstat showed in October 2026:

  • → BT: AS2856, "BT-UK-AS British Telecommunications Limited"; its Plusnet brand uses AS6871.
  • → Sky: AS5607, "BSKYB-BROADBAND-AS Sky UK Limited".
  • → Virgin Media: AS5089, "NTL Virgin Media Limited".
  • → TalkTalk: AS13285, "OPALTELECOM-AS TalkTalk Communications Limited".
  • → Vodafone: AS5378 and AS25135, both held by Vodafone Limited; Vodafone does not say which one its mobile exits use.
  • → Three: AS206067 and AS60339, both "H3GUK Hutchison 3G UK Limited".
  • → O2: AS35228, "O2BROADBAND Telefonica UK Limited".
  • → EE: AS12576, not announced since April 29, 2026; EE mobile ranges can appear under BT's AS2856.
  • → Fibre networks: Hyperoptic on AS56478, Community Fibre on AS201838 and Zen on AS13037.

Hosting networks with UK sites, which mark an exit as a datacenter IP rather than a home line:

  • → Amazon Web Services: AS16509, with region eu-west-2 in London.
  • → Microsoft Azure: AS8075, with UK South in London and UK West in Cardiff.
  • → Google Cloud: AS396982, with region europe-west2 in London.
  • → DigitalOcean: AS14061, with its LON1 site in London.
  • → Vultr: AS20473, with sites in London and Manchester.
  • → OVHcloud: AS16276, with a London region at Erith.

Cloud ASNs are global, so a hosting holder name says nothing about the country on its own. Pair the lookup with the location checks further down.

What It Costs to Buy UK Proxies, With VAT and Trial Terms

Before you buy a UK proxy, compare the dollar list prices of the three ranked sellers, as of October 2026:

Seller Residential Mobile ISP or Datacenter
Oxylabs $6/GB ($30 Starter); $2.50/GB from 1,000 GB $7.50/GB at the smallest tier ISP $1.50/IP, shared by up to 3; dedicated DC $2/IP
SOAX Sandbox $5/GB at Tier 1; UK tier unpublished Same per-GB tiers as residential Not sold in the UK
Byteful $3.25/GB (10 GB); $2.75/GB (100 GB) $4.25/GB (10 GB) Static ISP $3/IP (10 IPs); datacenter FAQ names no UK site

Byteful has the lowest confirmed per-GB residential entry rate of the three. SOAX's UK rate hangs on a tier it does not publish, though its billing guide puts the UK among the pricier countries. Oxylabs asks the most at small volumes, yet it sells the UK ISP and datacenter IPs that SOAX does not.

Every list price here is in dollars, not pounds. SOAX says "VAT applies to customers in the EU and UK" and adds it to plan fees, unless a business qualifies for reverse charge with a valid VAT ID. Oxylabs' plans say "VAT may apply", and Byteful's terms add taxes "where required by law", so ask before you pay.

For cheap UK proxies by the gigabyte, Databay's Residential Flex pool, targeted by country or continent only, comes to $0.55 per GB when you buy 25 GB (October 2026). Proxyway has not tested it, though. Terms for a UK proxy free trial vary just as widely, as of October 2026:

  • → Oxylabs: a $5 welcome credit toward any product, rather than a trial.
  • → SOAX: no free trial, though its UK page still says "Start your trial"; the Sandbox account has no fee but includes no credits.
  • → Byteful: a 1 GB residential trial on its UK page, while its pricing FAQ denies offering one; Proxyway says an Idenfy identity check comes first.
  • → Rayobyte: free trial traffic with no card required, though its datacenter page says static IPs are not part of that trial.
  • → Databay: up to 1 GB for seven days, with a card and an automatic top-up mandate.
  • → WonderProxy: a free trial on request, and a discretionary refund if you report promptly, after light use, that it does not suit you.

For trial rules across every vetted seller, not only UK ones, see our proxy trial comparison.

UK Proxy Sellers Left Off This List

These sellers turn up in UK proxy searches but fail our vetting. Each line quotes the trigger and where it sits, as read on their sites in October 2026. This cut-off is our editorial choice for readers, and it is no legal finding against any seller.

  • → Decodo: its footer links a "Craigslist proxies" page that says "Let your Craigslist bot avoid flagging".
  • → Bright Data: "without ever getting blocked" is its datacenter page's promise for running many seller or social media profiles.
  • → IPRoyal: its UK mobile page names "sneaker copping" among tasks where proxies "can help to reduce your risk of detection".
  • → Webshare: its footer Social Media page pitches handling several accounts "without triggering bans or verification loops".
  • → NodeMaven: its UK page sells ISP proxies "for accounts, automation, ticketing" and promises "+30% longer accounts".
  • → ProxyWing: its UK page offers "stable, ban-resistant IPs" to "Grow British social accounts".
  • → CyberYozh: its UK mobile page suggests "Open account creation on a sticky mobile proxy UK session."
  • → Proxy-Seller: its England page says you can "freely create multiple accounts in games" and do it "without the risk of ban or block".
  • → Coronium: its UK page sells "One line per account" for UK logins, and its menu lists "Sneaker Bots" and "Ticketmaster".
  • → DataImpulse, Evomi, ProxyEmpire and Geonode: use-case pages in their main menus or footers cover sneaker, ticket or Craigslist work. Examples are DataImpulse's "Sneaker/ticket bots", Evomi's "Ticketmaster Proxies", ProxyEmpire's "Sneakers, tickets, gaming and streaming" and Geonode's "Sneaker botting".
  • → Proxy-Cheap, ColdProxy and PlainProxies: Proxy-Cheap's homepage advertises "Multiple Accounts Creation". ColdProxy's footer Instagram page gives every account its own IP, so each profile looks like "an independent user", and PlainProxies' homepage lists "sneaker bots".
  • → Simply Proxies: a company registered in Scotland that prices UK mobile proxies in pounds with VAT included and lets you pick EE, O2, Vodafone or Three. Its main-menu Blog page pairs "Why datacentre IPs get social accounts banned" with one IP per account, so agencies can "manage many Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn accounts safely".
  • → NetNut and IPIDEA brands: NetNut lost its domains to an FBI seizure on July 2, 2026, according to KrebsOnSecurity. Google's Threat Intelligence Group tied brands such as Luna Proxy and IP 2 World to IPIDEA on January 28, 2026.

Watch for these names in other UK lists. Proxyway's UK page still ranks NetNut first, and in our searches several sellers' own "best UK proxy" posts put their own brand at the top.

How to Check a UK Proxy IP Before You Rely on It

Run these five checks on any UK proxy IP before a job depends on it, and only where your seller's terms allow testing.

A UK Exit IP Checklist

1 Confirm what sites see

Open the checker behind the first button in the closing box while your browser runs through the proxy. It lists the IP a site gets, checks 15 HTTP headers for proxy traces and asks a STUN server what WebRTC would reveal. A clean result means no leak showed up, not that the exit is British.

2 Read one database's UK town

See where one database puts it. The tool reads ip-api.com, so its city will sometimes differ from the seller's label. Other databases miss too: MaxMind gives no city for 11% of UK IPs.

3 Name the network

Name the operator behind the IP. A home exit should show BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk or another access network from the lists above, not AWS or OVHcloud. EE mobile exits may show BT's AS2856. The tool prints no country, so compare holder names.

4 Look for GB in the registry

Pull up the RIPE record. Registries list UK blocks under the code GB, which IP2Location spells out as "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Sky's 90.192.0.0/13, for example, is registered to Sky UK Limited in GB and covers 524,288 addresses, with no city field.

5 Match the clock

Compare your browser's time zone with the exit's using the second button in the closing box. A UK exit should show GMT in winter and BST from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Dublin and Lisbon keep UK time all year, so this check only catches clocks set to other offsets.

Passing all five does not guarantee that a site will accept the exit. It shows the IP is registered in GB, placed in the UK by one database, sits on an access network rather than hosting, and does not leak your address.

The Verdict: Which UK Proxy Fits Your Work?

Choosing the best UK proxy depends on the work. Unless a date says otherwise, every test figure above is from Proxyway's April 2026 UK tests. Oxylabs suits buyers who want the deepest pool and every proxy type. SOAX suits work tied to a city, nation or network, and Byteful suits speed on a smaller budget.

If You Need Start With Why
The deepest UK pool and all four types Oxylabs Most distinct UK IPs we rank; residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter
A named city, nation or network SOAX All four nations and named British ISPs on every plan
Quick responses for less per GB Byteful Quickest UK responses; lowest per-GB entry rate of the three (October 2026)
Test servers in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast WonderProxy Fixed datacenter IPs in all four nations
One dedicated London IP HighProxies Private datacenter IPv4 from a London server

No pick wins everywhere. Oxylabs asks the most at small volumes, SOAX does not publish the UK's price tier, and Byteful's UK datacenter offer does not match its own datacenter FAQ. WonderProxy and HighProxies fill narrow gaps that the three leave open, but Proxyway has tested neither in the UK.

Some UK sites filter whole networks rather than single addresses. If one you plan to check does that, read blocking a provider's whole network before choosing a proxy type. Running checks in America too? Our picks for American exits come from Proxyway's US pool, though several fail the stricter vetting used here.

Every price and term in this guide was read in October 2026, mostly on seller pages, so confirm it at checkout. Then run a few exits through the five checks; the proxy checker below is the first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is the best UK proxy to start with?

A
Oxylabs is our best UK proxy pick for most buyers, because no seller that passed our vetting returned more distinct UK IPs. Proxyway's April 2026 test counted 254,230 at 99.68% success, and Oxylabs sells all four proxy types. Among our three picks, SOAX had the best UK success rate in Proxyway's reviews, 99.87%. Byteful had the quickest average response of the three, at 0.35 seconds.

Q Is a UK proxy the same as a British VPN server?

A
Not quite. A UK proxy usually carries traffic from one browser or app, and a rotating residential pool can give each request a different British home IP. A VPN usually tunnels every app on the device through the provider's server, keeping one exit IP for the session. For search, ad or price checks at volume, a proxy fits better. WonderProxy offers both on each of its UK test servers.

Q Which mobile networks do UK 4G proxies run on?

A
Ofcom names four UK mobile operators, Vodafone, EE, Three and O2, and says all four have completed their 3G switch-offs. Vodafone UK and Three UK merged as VodafoneThree on May 31, 2025. Among vetted sellers, SOAX names EE, Three, O2 and Vodafone in its UK network list. EE's own ASN has not been visible in routing since April 2026, so EE exits may show BT's AS2856.

Q Can you buy a private or dedicated UK proxy IP?

A
Yes. As of October 2026, Oxylabs charges $2 per dedicated datacenter IP on its smallest plan and lists UK stock, though its UK page says "Pricing starts at $8.25/month". Rayobyte charges $3 a month per dedicated UK datacenter IP for 5 to 99. HighProxies rents dedicated London IPv4 at $2.56 a month on its UK page. For a fixed home-network IP, pick an ISP proxy.

Q How much do UK proxies cost, and is VAT added?

A
Byteful has the lowest confirmed per-GB entry rate among the best UK proxy sellers we rank: $32.50 for 10 GB of residential traffic in October 2026. That is $3.25 per GB, against $6 per GB under Oxylabs' $30 Starter plan. All three price in dollars. SOAX adds VAT for UK customers unless reverse charge applies, Oxylabs says "VAT may apply", and Byteful's terms add taxes "where required by law".

Q Can a UK proxy target Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland?

A
Yes, with the right seller. SOAX, our best UK proxy pick for targeting, lists England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as regions, plus cities such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. WonderProxy runs single test servers in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. Byteful's UK page names only London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and Oxylabs' UK page names only places in England.

Q Is it legal to use a UK proxy for business research?

A
That depends on what you collect, not on the proxy. The ICO lists IP addresses among online identifiers that may be personal data under UK GDPR. Gathering people's profiles brings data protection duties; checking public prices gathers little. UK SIM-farm offences, for kit running five or more SIM cards for calls or messages, apply from October 29, 2026. GOV.UK's guidance on them never mentions proxies. Seek legal advice for specifics.
